Late afternoon, I’m so tired I wanna nap, thoughts…

Wednesday, Oct 29, 2008

* First the Obama endorsement and now this

[Republican National Committee] spokesman Danny Diaz said he would not respond to questions from the Tribune, contending that the newspaper was biased against McCain.

Banished by the RNC?

Wow.

I’m starting to worry about a major Chicago-area earthquake caused by Colonel McCormick’s grave-spinning.

* More evidence that the world is coming to an end: Scott Kennedy is blogging.

* The DCCC is going all-in for Dan Seals

In IL-10, the DCCC just poured in an impressive $929,279, bringing its total investment in the district to more than $2 million.

That’s not a thought, but it’s connected to this…

* Blogger wars can be so much fun. Larry cracks an inside joke about a rival blogger in his post about the above story. And another site has a Halloween costume suggestion…

Left wing blogger. This is the easiest idea. Don’t bathe for a month, sit behind your computer and babble incoherently.

* Speaking of babbling, Todd Stroger spoke today at the City Club

“Contrary to popular belief, Cook County has not fallen into the lake.”

Not yet, anyway. When that McCormick quake hits, the whole town is gonna slide right into the drink.

“My father used to tell me that there would be good times and there will be bad times… But he never told me that there would be county commissioners who would make a career of using my name in every sentence, and as often as not tag my name to an outright misfact or misstatement.”

Misfact?

and when it slides into the lake, that’ll make O’Hare the lakefront airport and Daley’s gonna have to round up the bulldozers to start carving X’s in the runways he just added.

The funniest thing about the IR’s “scary costume” list is that it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. The leftwing blogger costume idea is the only one that remotely meets his thesis. A small businessman is scary?

And are they ever going to drop the “liberal media” nonsense? All their crying and whining is worse than my 5-year-old’s.

  3. - Tom B. - Wednesday, Oct 29, 08 @ 4:44 pm:

No Rich, Scott has always been a good writer, fairly technical, opinionated and able to spot out a garbage argument.

The world would be ending if he gave up shots.

  4. - OneMan - Wednesday, Oct 29, 08 @ 4:55 pm:

Colonel McCormick’s Zombie Army coming soon from Wheaton…

The good Colonel and his Zombies arise from Cantigny grab the hardware from the Big Red 1 museum and start kickin some liberal media ass…

I think it would make a great movie…

Rich I enjoyed your talk in 2006 that was posted online with paul green if there’s a similar link I would appreciate if you had it.

Also a great story in crains today being followed up with a wttw program tonight on the gop’s failure in the suburbs and potential loss of my favorite Congressman Mark Kirk’s seat.

Funny thing about liberal bloggers–most of us are sort of boring middle aging dorks. We do, however, like to drink shots with Kennedy.

    There will be no quake.

The Colonel rolled over in his grave many years ago.

  26. - thank god the trib is dead - Wednesday, Oct 29, 08 @ 11:40 pm:

Like some ersatz zombie, the tribune continued on as a supposed republican newspaper while the libs have slowly insinuated themselves into the halls of power.
Good news, though rich miller won’t acknowledge it, the national polls indicate that atlas may finally shrug and obama will lose.
That will be a great day for the nation - but a very bad night for the small businesses in the south loop that will be laid to waste.

D, Who stole Rich’s poster? Give it back.

TGTTID, I think you need that shot more than this Kennedy guy.

It’s a pity I missed all these hilarious comments… but I was actually taking a pretty sweet nap.

  34. - Rob_N - Thursday, Oct 30, 08 @ 2:38 pm:

Kevin - Just as long as you don’t shower. And stop writing so coherently … you liberal media elite, you.

TJ - …Kirk and his allies are spending more. What does that say?
