* A short blooper reel from the Dan Proft for governor campaign

Destined to be a classic.

  1. - Mike Murray - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 8:35 am:

LOL. Hilarious. Not the best campaign slogan though…

  2. - Carl Nyberg - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 8:40 am:

I think the Democrats can take the GOP if either Dan Proft or Andy Martin get nominated, but it could be a GOP blowout if both Proft and Martin get the nod.

  3. - You Go Boy - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 8:47 am:

    Finally, some honesty in politics.

  4. - Arthur Andersen - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 8:49 am:

Well done and likely the high point of that campaign effort.

  5. - Obamarama - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 8:53 am:

“I’m Dan Proft and I am running for Governor because I think it is unfair that Ricky Hendon gets all of the attention for wearing tacky ties.”

  6. - Rubbernecker - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 9:11 am:

I’m Dan Proft, and I’m running for governor to make black the new red. (What’s with those signs, man?)

  7. - wordslinger - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 9:13 am:

I assume his campaign released the blooper. Smart politics. Continued self-deprecation and a sense of humor might help him dull some of the rough edges that can turn off voters who aren’t true believers.

  8. - Rich Miller - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 9:16 am:

===I assume his campaign released the blooper. ===

You are correct, which is why I identified it as from the campaign.

  9. - dupage dan - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 9:18 am:

I am Dan Proft and I approve this message.

  10. - Anon - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 10:12 am:

Blooper or unintended moment of brutal honesty?

  11. - dc - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 10:29 am:

Reminds me of Blago who was always joking about his bad grades. I don’t think I want a Governor who is proud of screwing up? Don’t get me wrong, we all make simple mistakes, but I question highlighting that in a Gubernatorial campaign.

  12. - Speaking at Will - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 11:00 am:

“I question highlighting that in a Gubernatorial campaign.”

C’mon, get a sense of humor. Great stuff from Proft.

  13. - Joe in the Know - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 11:35 am:

If “I am out of my mind” means “I am a raging egomaniac”, I would say he is spot on.

  14. - Just sayin - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 11:38 am:

I’m Dan Proft and I’m running for Governor because I need new sheep to shear after bleeding Cicero dry.

This guy is such a charlatan.

  15. - Been There - Wednesday, Aug 26, 09 @ 2:04 pm:

===“I question highlighting that in a Gubernatorial campaign.”
C’mon, get a sense of humor. Great stuff from Proft.====
This kind of stuff only works if used sparingly. If you are from Chicago and see the BOB ROORMAN blooper commercials one more time you will want to throw your TV out the window.

  16. - the down state observer - Thursday, Aug 27, 09 @ 5:50 am:

Dan needs to stay in broadcasting. Governor he “ain’t”. He may talk the issues & so on but this isn’t a radio program, where you debate the next caller ; it’s the big time with serious issues to solve. He’ll be dealing with the GA not a producer. These are serious times that require serious people.
