Your morning video
Tuesday, Apr 27, 2010 - Posted by Rich Miller * Baby Ian loves the White Sox. The kid obviously has good taste. But you absolutely must check out little Ian’s thoughts about the Cubs… It’s so satisfying in these trying times to see that at least some children are being raised right. This is a Major League Baseball open thread. Enjoy.

I will say this, he is more articulate than Ozzie.

I never thought you could condense 16 hours of sports talk radio into 23 seconds.
I regret the error.

All of a sudden both teams are winning, but it’s going to be a tough road for the Sox and Cubs.
Sox have all the pitching in the world (Peavey excepted) and a much better defense, but you can’t play Ozzie Ball if you don’t get on base. Rios has been much better, but AJ and Quentin are killing them.
Cubs. thanks for the sweep in Milwaukee, but outside your starting pitching, you’re a mess. Terrible defense. Jim Hendry actually broke camp with that bullpen. Unbelievable.
Still, I’ve never seen Lou so happy since he got his $18 million setup man. He got to stick it to Z and Hendry at the same time.
Strangely enough, the Cubs probably have a better shot at the playoffs just because they’re in the weaker NL and even weaker NL Central (I don’t believe in the mighty Cardinals).
Sox can’t hope for a wildcard in the strong AL, and will have to beat Minnesota for the division. With Mauer, Morneau, strong starts from Liriano and Rausch, plus the energy from a soldout new ballpark, that’s going to be real tough.
By the way, the BP Crosstown Cup, or whatever it is, is really lame.

While Ian is cuter than any other White Sox fan out there, he is just about as articulate as most Sox fans.

He should run for governor — he’s got a better handle on the most pressing issues of the day than our two leading choices.
But the design on his shirt is backwards. So was this really a video from Bizarro World, and he actually likes the Cubs and hates the Sox?

OUTSTANDING!!!
Ian for Governor - 2050!!

Being part of a multi-generational sports team fan family is one of the most beautiful things on earth. At certain times the sports team loyalty is about the *only* thing those generations can agree on–but it’s a base and a salve and a joint activity that is always present. Ian is a lucky boy.

I heart Ian. Go Sox!
- fedup dem - Tuesday, Apr 27, 10 @ 9:52 am:
You should send the video to the White House! President Obama will love it!

Dialing DCFS now….clear case of child abuse forcing him to a life of Sox love.

A young, model citizen.
The Sox are a bit confounding these days, but the Cubs are downright baffling. The Zambrano move is the silliest baseball decision I can remember seeing in many years. The Rickets family has been talking a nice game about this being a new beginning, with all this talk “Year One”(snicker) but it seems like nothing new from management. Really, just spend 4-5 million and get a couple serviceable arms (or one really good one) in the bullpen. Instead the Cubs go with the typical Cub solution of deciding to go on the cheap with 3 rookies in the pen, yet still boast about how they’re going to be competing this year.
- wordslinger - Tuesday, Apr 27, 10 @ 3:25 pm:
Baines, the Ricketts would be quite happy if Z went nuts and demanded a trade. At $18 million a year, he’s not an ace, but he’s still a very good two or three starter. Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Dodgers, we await your phone call.
You can’t dump Soriano’s $19 million a year for the next four (!), but you might be able to get rid of Zs salary. .
