Well, having just seen a twitter post by an old classmate about something Mitt’s ex-sister-in-law posted on facebook.

I just want to say thanks this election season for you all and the generally rational (and highly rational vs most of the world) political discussions we have here.

Anyway I plan to flip between football and baseball.

  2. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:04 pm:

    Thanks, Rich.

This should be a treat, a virtual “bar stool”.

    Should we get appetizers?

What Cardinal would make a good Bear? and vice versa……. I like Matt Holliday as a Chicago Bear and I bet Peanut Tillman could roam the outfield pretty well.

  5. - Ted - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:15 pm:

I’ve already voted. Made sure my family did, too. I think I’ll forgo the games AND the debate and go for SpongeBob this evening.

keep it clean,….the rain washed away lots but left bad traffic behind.

  7. - Just Me - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:21 pm:

I can’t recall an election season that I wanted to be over with so badly as this one, and we don’t have a statewide race this time around either.

  8. - Angry Chicagoan - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:22 pm:

What happens to ratings when scheduling a presidential debate against Monday Night Football and then having a Game 7 baseball playoff suddenly fall in everyone’s lap?

  9. - Anonymoose - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:22 pm:

Wow! All on the tube (flat screen)at roughly the exact same time…..

When I get in the office in the morning, I may have to break out the company defibrillator after all this. Chest compressions tonight to unblock my aorta…Da Bears!

Wouldn’t it have been great to hear Bill Swerski say “Urlacher” on the Superfans sketch?

“Urlacher against Matthew Stafford. Bears 42, Lions minus 5.”

  11. - Six Degrees of Separation - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:25 pm:

Angry C…I think I’d wager the mortgage that the debate will lose would-be viewers to MNF and Game 7 of the NLCS. And that the sky will be either blue or gray tomorrow morning.

O-HO, you felt guilty and included the Cards, eh?

Since I’m a Bears fan who’s rooting for the Giants tonight, am I safe commenting on San Fran’s win tonight or will I earn your eternal wrath Rich?

  15. - LevivotedforJudy - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 5:33 pm:

I may not make it to half-time, the 7th inning or the point where Romney and POTUS slap fight (whichever comes first). This is my kind of evening.

==I can’t recall an election season that I wanted to be over with so badly as this one,==

The San Francisco Giants will score more runs than the Detroit Lions score points!! And they will both score more points than Obama and Romney combined who will circle without landing any serious blows.

I was watching SportsCenter and thought that same thing. the Cardinals made the best decision for them as a ball club, and I now hope the fan base will think twice when questioning other moves …

On the North Side, you overpay, underperform, and aploogize to no one … Alfonso Soriano, anyone?

  126. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 10:56 pm:

I am done … catching the train downtown tomorrow, early morning.

    Nite all.

AA, and amalia, thanks for keeping ME from being banned … and that evil Wily too.

  127. - wordslinger - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:12 pm:

How about that Charlie Tillman, Bears fans?

    Can you dig it?

Shutout? In the NFL? Mr. Julius Peppers, I like the way you do your business.

Hey, Scwhartz, you can’t score with two No. One picks like Stafford and Johnson?

My momma could score twice with Calvin Johnson (that doesn’t sound right, but you know what I mean; seriously, my mom was cool).

Charley Tillman is, and has been, the most underrated player in the NFL for quite some time.

I have no idea why. The dude is a hammer at corner, and he would be like Troy P or Ed Reed at safety.

Old School Dan Hampton, one of my favorite players of all time, really digs on Charley. Me, too.

  128. - Southside cubs/gop fan - Monday, Oct 22, 12 @ 11:17 pm:

53 Chicagoans tried forcing the Detroit offense into bankruptcy, unfortunately they came up a little short. I wouldn’t say Detroit came Roaring back by any means though..

  129. - unclesam - Tuesday, Oct 23, 12 @ 12:03 am:

Biggest take-away from debate — Obama admitting that he/his administration has “neglected our economy and education.”

Biggest take-away from Bears game — Urlacher goal line strip and recovery.

    Game over!
