Attention, Domers!

Friday, Jan 4, 2013

* My brother Denny is a vintage clothing dealer in California. He’s selling a 1966 Notre Dame letterman’s jacket, size 40/42, on Ebay. This thing is way cool and if you buy it now you can have it delivered in time to wear it to Monday’s BCS National Championship game.

Click here to check it out

    Go Irish!!!!!

  3. - Stones - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 12:25 pm:

I’m thinking ND is going to get slapped in this game. Bama is best in the nation this year - Oregon 2nd. I don’t really care what the ratings say.

Manti Te’o seems like a nice guy and good ballplayer but 2nd in the Heisman? Only at Notre Dame!

  6. - LincolnLounger - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 12:41 pm:

I can’t move past the sexual assault story and the disgusting culture of the Notre Dame football program. I feel terrible for that girl’s family.

  7. - Please - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 12:44 pm:

Please win, Alabama. There are few, actually no other things in life I dislike more than Notre Dame. We have our own (national) network, we are too good to be in a conference all the way, we are everyone’s favorite, blah blah blah. Barf city. Thank goodness for Boston College making that field goal so they didn’t get the title in 1993/94. Let’s keep the streak of no titles going. Roll Tide. I don’t care if it’s a 1 point win or a 100 point win, just win Alabama. Just win.

  8. - Wensicia - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 12:54 pm:

Whoever wins the jacket, let us know how much you bid. I suppose it will be a nice consolation prize.

    Crimson Tide will win, easily.

  9. - Ravenswood Right Winger - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 1:01 pm:

I think Notre Dame gives them a game but loses in the end. SEC not as good as years past…Florida got waylaid and so did Mississippi State in bowl games.

If Notre Dame wins…it will be insufferable…of course I predict if ND wins, Brian Kelly to the NFL!

  10. - wordslinger - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 1:11 pm:

I’m definitely not a Domer, but Notre Dame didn’t have a cupcake schedule this year. Undefeated is undefeated.

Their victory in Norman was impressive. The Sooners were scoring 55 points a game. Stanford, USC, Michigan, Michigan State, all wins.

But let’s get real. The SEC has been playing at a higher level than the rest of the country for 10 years, and Alabama has been playing at the height of that level. No schools, no rules, just win, baby.

  11. - Langhorne - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 1:21 pm:

I am for whoever is playing Notre Dame. Roll tide.

  12. - OneMan - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 1:26 pm:

My dislike of Nick Sabin trumps my feelings about ND…

    So go ND

    ugh…

  13. - Irish Alum - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 1:35 pm:

This jacket appears to be from the Bengal Bouts, an annual charity boxing tournament at ND started in 1920 by Knute Rockne. I don’t remember seeing a jacket like this so it must be rare…I’ll be sure to pass the link along to my Domer friends.

I’m not surprised by the ND bashing. You either love ND or you hate ND.

  16. - Jake From Elwood - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 2:48 pm:

Wow, a lot of ND haters out there.
We are rooting for ND big time.

I am just worried about one of my friends on the rail and if we will ever hear from him again should ND prevail.

  17. - Denny Miller - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 3:11 pm:

I had the pleasure of speaking to the original owner, 1966 Notre Dame graduate Dr. Richard W. Fleming of Beverly Hills, CA. It was his letterman’s jacket - his name is chain embroidered on the inside - and there is only one. True vintage Notre Dame letterman’s jackets with provenance are very rare. This is your opportunity to own a piece of Notre Dame history - don’t pass it by!

  18. - anon sequitor - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 3:18 pm:

    Go Irish.

I can’t wait to hear the excuses the haters will come up with on why Bama lost!

BTW: Where is Sully watching the game?

    WE ARE ND!

  19. - Irishhhh - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 3:25 pm:

Haters gonna hate. I love it. Keep predicting a Bama blowout. Ebb tide! Go Irish!!!!!

  20. - wordslinger - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 3:29 pm:

Geez, the Domers are in the national championship game and they’re still whining.

You guys are super-d-duper special, just like Barney says. Feel better?

    Now play ball.

  21. - railrat - Friday, Jan 4, 13 @ 3:37 pm:

    @please 12:44 well said !!!
