    “Whose commin’ in 2nd?”

Immediately afterwards as Pat Brady came down slower, he said it was Madigan’s fault…

    Blues sister of the slide!

  8. - anon sequitor - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 11:48 am:

Having survived nearly ten years on the slippery slope of father daughter politics, Lisa gives two thumbs up for the race for Governor.

  9. - wordslinger - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 11:54 am:

“Seriously, this is all I had to do to beat my last two GOP opponents.”

  10. - Veil of Ignorance - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 11:54 am:

Madigan seen riding Quinn’s slide in approval

  20. - Boone Logan Square - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:17 pm:

Willing to get in the dirt in ‘14!

  21. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:19 pm:

*giggles* It’s always nice to see the little ones come out to play…even the Democrats. ;)

  22. - dupage dan - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:23 pm:

  23. - D.P. Gumby - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:25 pm:

“Oh, I have to go up to the top of the sled…”

  24. - So. ILL - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:25 pm:

An awkward moment occurred prior to this picture being taken as Steve Kim had to check AG Madigan’s height to be sure she was allowed on the ride he was operating.

  25. - Amalia - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:28 pm:

it’s all uphill from here, but I can do it, backwards and in high heels.

  26. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:34 pm:

=If you dress like a Republican, will you get their votes?=

I’d hate to say it, but you might. As a female Republican, being able to go down that slide in a skirt (and I’m pretty sure it’s a skirt), and only revealing the “kid in you” is pretty impressive.

  27. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:46 pm:

===Steve Kim had to check AG Madigan’s height to be sure she was allowed on the ride he was operating.===

    So well done! Bravo!

  28. - Dirty Red - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:46 pm:

If it’s good enough for Thompson, then it’s good enough for me!

  29. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:47 pm:

“Lisa … LISA … Hey … you want Ice Cream….”

  30. - Michelle Flaherty - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:48 pm:

Her mat looks like burlap but it’s actually all that remains of Joe Birkett’s political hopes and dreams.

  31. - Boone Logan Square - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:49 pm:

    The AG approves of Oscar.

  32. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:49 pm:

Although 6 racers were expected to go in this last heat, after Lisa knocked 4 off the with successful challenges, leaving Lisa one racer to beat, who failed to show…

  33. - Anon. - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:53 pm:

Dad stepped out of the way, and now the Trib is griping that he should have stayed there!

  34. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:54 pm:

===but it’s actually all that remains of Joe Birkett’s political hopes and dreams.===

When asked, Birkett said, “I called her up and said, ‘Congratulations, Lisa, now you are Carnie-Folk!”, misunderstanding yet again.

  35. - MrJM - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:54 pm:

The Madigan Magic Carpet is GO!

    – MrJM

  36. - So. ILL - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:54 pm:

  37. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 12:59 pm:

“Who has over $3 Million in her Political fund, won 4 statewide races, leads in most early polls for governor, and has two thumbs … this General!”

  38. - Mama - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:00 pm:

Yeah…I made it! Having fun at the IL State Fair.

  39. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:02 pm:

Cute except you know it’s staged because no way was she flashing on her slide down in a skirt. She might want to watch a few episodes of What Not To Wear before launching her gubernatorial campaign because that awful shirt is really sad.

  40. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:07 pm:

Oh, now we have an Anonymous who’s a fashionista. Welcome, Anonymous 1:02.

  41. - Arthur Andersen - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:09 pm:

“Done. Where’s the Miller tent? That isn’t named after Rich, is it?”

  42. - Oswego Willy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:09 pm:

Although not know by many, but Attorney General Madigan has her own life-size “Chutes and Ladders” game, and plays to wind down after doing very difficult “General-Stuff” during her work day.

  43. - soccermom - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:18 pm:

Attorney General Madigan assuring enforcement of the law of gravity.

  44. - PsyOp - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:25 pm:

I like to dream, yes, yes
    Of a Madigan-run scene
On a cloud of dough I sail through the night
Any place it goes is right
    Goes far, flies near
    Downstate and away from here

    Well, you won’t know what
    We can find
Why don’t you come with me Illinois
    On a magic carpet ride

    Well, you won’t know what
    We can see
Why don’t you lend your faith in me
The Speaker and I will set you free

  45. - zatoichi - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:27 pm:

Quick, sit there and it’ll look like you really went down the slide. Now, over to the cows.

  46. - Irish - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:32 pm:

When asked why there has been no prosecution of public corruption cases during her tenure, Attorney General Lisa Madigan stated, “I guess I have decided to let them slide”

  47. - NIref - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:41 pm:

Quinn was disappointed how Madigan used the shirt he lent her.

  48. - Lepricon - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:41 pm:

Dad I came to visit you! Now where did you hide the pot of Gold?

  49. - Really? - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:43 pm:

Lisa provides an apt demonstration of her popularity rating during her gubenatorial campaign.

  50. - Mouthy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:46 pm:

“Oh Wow”, she said not seeing squeezy the pension python at the bottom.

  51. - Irish - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:49 pm:

“You won’t see the other Madigan doing this.”

In all seriousness I give her props for showing her human side. The only way you would see PQ doing this would be if he tripped at the top and accidently went down the slide. It is nice to see an elected official that doesn’t take themselves so seriously all the time and isn’t afraid of letting their hair down a little.

  52. - Norseman - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:52 pm:

AG Lisa Madigan seen practicing for when she, as Governor, will preside over the opening of the State Fair.

  53. - Ghost of John Brown - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:57 pm:

If that picture was taken in the last week, she has wisely given up on Illinois and moved to a much warmer state.

  54. - Richard Afflis - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 1:58 pm:

Thumbs up to jumping in with both feet!

  55. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 2:37 pm:

=Quick, sit there and it’ll look like you really went down the slide.=

lol If that’s the case, at least “whoever” exercised some restraint by not also photoshopping Quinn, Squeezy, and gosh knows who else into the background.

  56. - OneMan - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 2:45 pm:

== lol If that’s the case, at least “whoever” exercised some restraint by not also photoshopping Quinn, Squeezy, and gosh knows who else into the background. ==

Where do you think they got the color for Squeezy from, look at the snake look at the slide…

  57. - QC Democrat - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 2:45 pm:

I’ll bet you won’t see Bill Daley going down this slide next summer at the Illinois State Fair! ;)

  58. - John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 3:07 pm:

Happy that the cat is nowhere in sight.

  59. - GOP - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 3:13 pm:

I followed the Yellow Brick Road and made it, Dad (aka Wizard). You can go now. Thanks for everything!

  60. - Really? - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 3:33 pm:

Only job requirement on Govenor’s job description.

  61. - Chicago Cynic - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:06 pm:

Ok, I can handle the rollercoaster. I’m in!

  62. - Arthur Andersen - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:17 pm:

“I had better get more props than Miller’s new puppy or you’re all fired.”

  63. - Palos Park Bob - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:21 pm:

Taking a clue from the Daley family, who win elections by 200,000 votes when only 100,000 people voted, Herself won the slide race by 2 minutes even though the slide only lasted 10 seconds!

  64. - Muffin Man - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:50 pm:

I guess I must have beat Pat down? (Or,should I say—I am going to “beat down Pat”?)Where did Pat go? He started down the slide next to me at the same time? I guess he must still be at the top of the slide talking to the other people up there about the adversity he is about to face.

  65. - Running Mate - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:53 pm:

No, um no, Pat Quinn is Not buried under this sand!

  66. - Will - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:57 pm:

If you think this is a landslide, just wait until you see my numbers against Quinn in the next primary!

  67. - Stu - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 4:59 pm:

When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide
Where I stop and I turn and I go for a ride
Till I get to the bottom and I see you again.

  68. - Kasich Walker, Jr. - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 5:13 pm:

IL Attorney General Madigan gives the “thumbs up” to alternative sun bathing sites as lake levels drops, yet dodged questions concerning “clothing optional” sites in Cook County Forest Preserves.

  69. - the wonderboy - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 6:01 pm:

HULK RUTHERFORD ANGRY!! QUINN SUPPOSED TO BE OPPONENT!! THIS IS HULK RUTHERFORD SLIDE!!

  70. - Fingers - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 6:48 pm:

Hey Look! I lost my left thumb!

  71. - Just The Way It Is One - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 6:48 pm:

“Thank you Dad–I know I’m so good; look, I DID it! It’s true!–TWO Madigans ARE better than ONE!”

  72. - WazUp - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 7:01 pm:

    “Help I’ve fallen and I can’t get up !”

Producer: “ok try it again, Medical Alert
    Commercial take 38.”

  73. - Danimal - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 8:12 pm:

In an effort to keep up with the Rutherford social media machine, Lisa Madigan goes down the slide in a skirt. Next up she will fix a leaky shower head while wearing a wedding dress.

  74. - Anonymous - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 8:31 pm:

Danimal, I am absolutely certain that your comment could be construed–by some–as “inappropriate, excessively rabid, gratuitous”, or at a MINIMUM as directly competitive with Oscar’s debut thread.

Therefore, I appeal to Rich to disregard both Danimal’s comment and mine in the count.

  75. - Budget Watcher - Thursday, Jan 24, 13 @ 10:02 pm:

The frontrunner for the race to the bottom is…

  76. - gallerywalker - Friday, Jan 25, 13 @ 7:46 am:

“That wasn’t so bad…now on to the Pension Ramp!!”
