  1. - wordslinger - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:27 pm:

What was the rate-of-return on your charter school investment funds?

  2. - SirLankselot - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:28 pm:

    Who are you again?

  3. - just sayin' - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:30 pm:

Why is it you never cared about the GOP in Illinois and never lifted a finger to build, until it was all about you?

  4. - 47th Ward - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:31 pm:

Q: How can you speak for four minutes without saying anything?

Q: Was this video shot in black and white or are you this bland and dull in real life?

Q: Do you support extending the temporary income tax hike at 5%?

  5. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:31 pm:

@FakeRutherfordDan - Hey, this is MY schtick! #DanRulesTheInternet

    To the post,

I would ask, “Given the Democratic majorities that may still be in place, how will you ’shake up’ Springfield AND work to get things done with the Democrats running the legislature?”

  6. - Ron Burgundy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:31 pm:

How are you different from the other rich guys who wanted to start at the top in Illinois politics and lost?

  7. - the wonderboy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:32 pm:

Who is this “we” that you keep talking about as governor? (Makes me think “him wants the precious…”

  8. - 47th Ward - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:33 pm:

Q: How much does a gallon of milk cost?

  9. - Formerly Known As... - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:34 pm:

What made you change your mind regarding Aaron Schock being a suitable candidate for Governor?

  10. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:34 pm:

How will you explain your donations to Democrats and try to court the conservatives making your campaign fiscal based?

  11. - phocion - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:35 pm:

    1. Would you go away, please?

    2. Why do you want to keep the Republican Party in the political wilderness they’ve been wandering in for the past decade?

    3. Do you think you can actually be effective in pursuing your agenda through the Illinois General Assembly?

    4. How do you justify attacking Republican office holders when you have been a major contributor to Democratic candidates?

  12. - Endangered Moderate Species - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:37 pm:

What actions would you take, in your words, to hold underperforming schools accountable?

Aaron Schock, thumbs up or thumbs down?

  13. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:38 pm:

When the governor of Wisconsin attacked the unions, there was a majority of Republicans in the Wisconsin Senate helping. With no legislative majority for any Republican governor if elected, when you shut down the state, who are you going to turn to..to help you with these new contracts?

  14. - Formerly Known As... - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:40 pm:

You have a proven track record of getting results via Stand for Children and other groups.

Why do you think you were able to get results in the arena of education reform where Quinn, Madigan, Cullerton and others have failed so miserably?

  15. - Arthur Andersen - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:40 pm:

    Do you need a consultant?

  16. - Formerly Known As... - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:40 pm:

Can you liven things up a bit? Know any funny jokes?

Do you know a joke? Sports team? Band?

  17. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:45 pm:

    - AA -,

    You need a partner?

What ideals did the Democrats have you gave money to that you admire?

  18. - Empty Chair - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:49 pm:

Is it just me, or does he force the folksy, “look at me in a Taurus” thing a bit too much. I mean the man lives in Winnetka, not Effingham.

  19. - Endangered Moderate Species - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:52 pm:

How much have you contributed to ‘Club For Growth’?

Do you consider ‘Club for Growth’ a special interest group?

  20. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:53 pm:

Will you help, financially, the ILGOP, as it retools and builds a field organization, and if so, when (before or after the primary? 2013 State Fair? After petitions are filed?)

  21. - 10th ward - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:55 pm:

@47th Ward, EXACTLY!! he said NOTHING specific…yada, special interests are bad, yada, schools need to be improved, yada. HOW Bruce? Exactly how will you do those things?
My question and I have a hunch he won’t answer it or take the lameass route: Cubs, Sox or Cards Fan? 2nd Question: last time to went a ball game?

  22. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 2:59 pm:

Describe your ideal Lt. Governor, and what role do you see for your LG, since you will be running as a team in the Primary?

  23. - wordslinger - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:04 pm:

    –Do you need a consultant?–

LOL, AA, if I may followup:

    “How much you got, governor?”

  24. - Belle - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:06 pm:

How often do you drive your own car?
    May I have some money?

  25. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:14 pm:

Explain the “shutting down” of government, how that as a hammer is going to help, and how will the Democrats, who will, more likely, run the legislature, react to that move, when you have other issues besides the budget to work with them as governor? What is the “shutting down” end game?

  26. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:22 pm:

When will your tax returns be made available?

  27. - ChicagoDem - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:37 pm:

Same old general stuff…no specifics. Who wants to hear about “more efficient government.” What do YOU stand for that different? You have wasted 2-4 minutes saying nothing. The state of Illinois is in bad shape. What do you offer that’s the different than what the Dems have offered for the last 10 years. How do we fix the mess made by Chicago Dems. You will not win if run as care-taker of government. You need to be an agent of change…God knows we need it.

  28. - Arthur Andersen - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:40 pm:

Mr. Rauner, AWillyWord Consulting $trategies LLC is at your service!

To the Post, I like the baseball question, and..how do you reconcile your posts on The Facebook about “bringing Illinois together” and “unity” with the divisive and harsh rhetoric of shutting down the government?

  29. - carbaby - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:50 pm:

    1. What is your definition of a political /government “outsider”?
    2. How effective do you think an “outsider” would have governing all “insiders”?
    3. What is your plan to deal with all the insiders when they don’t invite you to their meetings?

  30. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 3:56 pm:

Got a nice ring to it, - AA -,

While traveling the state, what was something new you learned about Illinois?

  31. - Arthur Andersen - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 4:00 pm:

Did you fill out a bracket? Can we see it? Your pick to win it all?

Speaking of brackets, AA was a genius yesterday and a goat today. Thanks Cheeseheads.

  32. - Responsa - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 4:12 pm:

Has anyone named Bruce ever been elected to anything?

  33. - wordslinger - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 4:13 pm:

    – Thanks Cheeseheads.–

    There’s you’re 5-12 curse.

Watch out for Kansas. Self likes a deep team that is long and athletic.

    Go Illini.

  34. - hisgirlfriday - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 4:15 pm:

    1) Where are you going to find money to increase education spending at the same time as you promise to cut taxes?

    2) You mentioned several times that you are going to make the government work for people and not special interests at the same time you said you have been meeting with business groups and have an agenda to help business interests. You do understand that the business lobby is a special interest too, right?

  35. - anonymoose - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:01 pm:

Given that inspired delivery, any truth to the rumor you and Ben Stein (”Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”) were separated at birth?

  36. - Just The Way It Is One - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:01 pm:

Isn’t it great to have million$ at your beck and call so that even though, really Bruce, practically NO ONE in Illinois even knows who you ARE, you will be able to SPEND those millions on trying to just become the nominee of your Party for Governor, so, again, even though millions and millions of us poor and middle-class souls couldn’t even BEGIN to dream about having so many million$ of dollars to TRY to make ourselves relevant and competitive in such a Major race for such an important Elective Office in our State, you CAN, AND, even though that may only garner you enough attention to finish respectably and as history shows in Illinois almost definitely not to win, since YOU CAN run for that Office, almost exclusively because you DO have million$ of dollars, you don’t think that the majority of Republicans, to start with,(let alone the General Illinois Electorate if somehow you’d miraculously WIN the GOP Nomination) won’t feel resentful toward you for that fact alone, since otherwise they’ve never even heard of you and know that you’ve done virtually nothing in terms of serving the Public already in other noteworthy, pertinent Government-Service positions befor–and so that majority, even plurality of Republicans, would NOT vote for you that reason???

  37. - Just The Way It Is One - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:04 pm:

…Meanwhile, back at the Ranch, Illini kickin’ some Colorado back-side, up by 16…woo hoo!!!

  38. - Carl Nyberg - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:04 pm:

To what extent do you have a plan for state government? And to what extent are you going to complain about the people actually doing the work without offering details about your alternative?

  39. - Carl Nyberg - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:06 pm:

That Romney guy claimed he had a bunch of cuts he could make that would be relatively harmless, but he had to keep them under wraps until after the election.

When the election happened, it turned out he didn’t have any cuts to offer. Mr. Rauner, are you satisfied that Gov. Romney was shooting straight with the voters when he claimed he had cuts, but wasn’t going to share until after the election?

  40. - Carl Nyberg - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:09 pm:

Who came up with the idea of addressing people from the passenger seat of a car with a laptop on your lap?

Does this person still work for you?

Should we incorporate this video into our evaluation of your judgment? Or do you want a do over?

  41. - Carl Nyberg - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:12 pm:

Have you ever given money to a political organization (meaning any organization that sought to influence the outcome of elections, including media organizations) that was not required to reveal the identity of contributors?

  42. - Arthur Andersen - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:39 pm:

    Responsa-
“Has anyone named Bruce ever been elected to anything?”

    Richard Bruce Cheney.

    How quickly they forget.

  43. - Nearly Normal - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:42 pm:

Illini now up by 4 points and 3:16 left to play. I would love to see them advance.

AA–Cheney went by Dick not Richard or Bruce. We didn’t think of middle names.

  44. - Nearly Normal - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 5:59 pm:

    Illini 57-49 over Colorado.

  45. - Arthur Andersen - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 6:00 pm:

    Nearly, Illini for the win!

And I was kidding about Dick Cheney. I had to use the Google to find a pol named Bruce and got a few nobodies.

  46. - Just The Way It Is One - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 6:06 pm:

    Yahoooooooo!!! (Presumably)…Bring on Miami!!! #2 Seed-ha!!!

  47. - Seriously - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 6:12 pm:

    Tired of fried chicken?

  48. - Arthur Andersen - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 6:19 pm:

What’s your daily driver when your not in someone else’s Taurus?

  49. - Nearly Normal - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 6:40 pm:

How does it feel to move up to 39 from 90 on Chicago Magazine’s 100 Most Powerful Chicagoans?

  50. - Seriously - Friday, Mar 22, 13 @ 7:16 pm:

Had to quit listening half way through….BORING, same old blah blah blah. If his education efforts are so great, then why hasn’t he been successful with the Chicago system? Talk about a self absorbed, boring, simpleton. The Effingham County Lincoln Day Dinner is the perfect venue for him though. In fact, he might win that county.
