Today’s massive flooding is to the Bears 1984 ‘46 Defense was to the defending Super Bowl champ Oakland Raiders.

Don’t ask why — just popped into my head.

Most violent football game I ever saw.

The Raiders were the champs and the baddest men on the planet. They beat up everybody.

But the young 6-2 Bears — led by Hampton, Dent, McMichael and Otis Wilson — put the wood to them, knocking out Marc Wilson, then David Humm.

Injured Jim Plunkett and punter Ray Guy were nervously warming to play QB, before Wilson came back in to mop up.

The Bears defense that day was hellacious, unforgiving and unstoppable. And it took the Raiders a long time to recover.
