Attorney sets clients up on dates

Monday, Feb 10, 2014

* Christine Svenson is the attorney representing Dan Rutherford’s chief accuser. This is from an article posted on her firm’s website about events she coordinates

Svenson said she has divorce clients that she also helps with employment and family law issues. She sometimes sets her clients up on dates, and she thought the event would help lift their spirits.

“It really was a great way for women to feel good about themselves again,” Svenson said. “I’m helping [my clients] not only get back on their feet financially, but also back into the social scene.

“I only take cases from individuals that I actually personally believe in and like because you have this bond with your client. You want to help them not just with the financial implications of what they’re going through. I want to see the aftermath. I want them to have a good outcome five year or ten years down the road.” [Emphasis added.]

A full service law firm, eh?

    Dan Proft is single… how many times has she tried to hook him up?

    Starting to sound like a very light version of Gloria Allred.

    LOL!!! Dan is doing just fine on his own.

    Just because an attorney is a bit kooky doesn’t mean their client’s claim is not legit.

    But it is a lesson to all to take a few minutes to vet lawyers, consultants, etc. before you hire them.

    @Tommydanger - reading my mind.

    It’s only a matter of time until we see the big press conference that brings the victim forward and devastates the harasser, cheater, etcetera. How many times have we seen Gloria at the side of a sympathetic victim behind the podium?

    Those clips will be on every news site in Illinois.

    Oh, sure… But when I set clients up with dates, here comes the vice squad.

    An attorney and escort service. Only in Illinois and now it all makes sense to me.

    Even attorneys are allowed to have second jobs in Illinois! Anyway, it’s Illinois!

    Isn’t there some kind of ethics canon against co-mingling your clients?

    Actually, I think this is exactly what the ILGOP needs — a breeding program. It’s a longterm fix, but I like to see them looking ahead.
