SUBSCRIBER: Why do you keep deleting my McCarter comments? Was it the Crazy Caucus or the “win friends and influence people” comment?
ME: I’m trying hard to tone things down. They’re getting out of hand, so even a little vitriol could be met with deletions.
SUBSCRIBER: I hear ya, but c’mon – that was pithy!
SUBSCRIBER: Seriously though, you may want to do a post about it to put everyone on notice. The Dunkin stuff definitely sent many of us the other direction.
Yes, “the Dunkin stuff” did get everybody fired up. I let much of it go for a couple of reasons: 1) He deserved it; and 2) The worst stuff was posted after I stopped monitoring comments that afternoon.
Anyway, let’s all calm down a bit.
Thanks.

Is this like being a compassionate conservative? You want us to be a kinder gentler blogger.
There are some bloggers who task me. Tasks me and I shall have him! I’ll chase him ’round the moons of Nibia and ’round the Antares Maelstrom and ’round perdition’s flames before I give him up!

Norseman,
Thanks Khan! Clearly, yours is the superior intellect.

Folks got hyper over Kyle McCarter? Wow, that is a symptom of something. Can’t tell you what though.
- Gruntled University Employee - Wednesday, Oct 7, 15 @ 2:11 pm:
Fair enough.
- Chicago Cynic - Wednesday, Oct 7, 15 @ 2:20 pm:
Oh spare me “A Guy”. The nicest thing I can say is that Kyle is a lightning rod. Hell, the man got into the only fist fight in decades on the Senate floor. He’s not exactly warm and cuddly.

Unfortunately the worse things get the louder and more jacked up people get. I don’t mind a good scrap but I honestly don’t want it effecting Rich’s health. I’m sure it takes a toll. I don’t want anything else interupting the production of this blog. I get real cranky when I can’t get on capfax and get my fix.

Ah, now it all makes perfect sense. Thank you for the context.
I am reminded of the following and try to remember as I toil under the sun–
“Meaningless! meaningless!” says the Teacher…Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind.” (Eccl 1)

Dude, I think we got ourselves a misunderstandin’. I’m not defending McCarter. Very far from it. I can’t believe he gets anyone riled up. He’s just acting up. Isn’t that at least part of your point? If so, let him cry alone.

Fair enough A guy.
