Somebody needs to call a plumber
Wednesday, Nov 4, 2015 - Posted by Rich Miller * This story in the Sun-Times about how Kim Foxx hasn’t yet disclosed an in-kind contribution of a poll done on her behalf by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle months before Foxx opened up a campaign account is a bit on the technical violation side. But this is most interesting…
Um, wow. Is somebody on the inside leaking campaign e-mails? This’ll get interesting.

My guess is that it’s coming from the party and they had knowledge of what Preckwinkle put in the field. Even though they took a neutral position, some pretty heavy hitters, (13th and 14th ward committeemen, for example) are sticking with Alvarez. And Berrios is severely weakened (Guzzardi and Santiago wins), so I doubt he would (or could) do too much to stand in the way of attacks coming from within.

If those emails are government emails, they’re obtainable by FOIA. If you’re editing a poll on government email, that’s a big problem.

Easily “plumber-ed”.
Send email to “suspects”, change dates and times, see what dates and times leaked.
The fact you may need to do this old style of checking is g good.

The detailed description of some of the polling questions seems to indicate that Mihalopoulos has the poll, too.

I think Juice has it. They were working with someone they thought was a friend who sent the poll and planning emails to the CST. Hopefully they have a better idea who their friends are now.

Ask Foxx what “authorization” means to her and go from there.

The Canary Trap. That’s old school trade craft Willy. I always knew you were a pro. It’s good advice, but you should sell it instead of giving it away for free, lol.

- 47th Ward -,
Business has been slow for the Ole Consulting Firm, but - AA - is shagging some work.
Thought I could skip it past, but a seasoned pro like you called me on it, lol.
I’d share a desk with ya anytime, - 47th Ward -.

Yawn — it’s kinda a gotcha story. I can guarantee I can find a violation in almost any major politco’s D2s.

Preckwinkle has been moving very deliberately for many months, to wrest away the political reins for Dems across the City and County. Good thing.

Wouldn’t putting the County Board President’s crony as chief legal officer be a case of the Foxx guarding the hen coop? Sorry, couldn’t resist the pun.

The Consulting Firm does not do that type of “work,” but could certainly refer to a qualified subcontractor for a nominal fee.

was Kim a lawyer during this time? or on one of her breaks from being a lawyer so she would not be subject to legal ethics? how convenient. but not ethical.
