Then and now

* From August 4, 2015

Illinois’ budget impasse is forcing a Little Village YMCA, named after Governor Bruce Rauner, to shut down one of its longest-running youth programs. […]

Now that those funds have run out due to the budget battle in Springfield, administrators have made the tough decisions to discontinue one of the center’s longest running programs called Teen Reach. […]

Governor Rauner issued this statement about the ongoing budget battle:

The failure of Speaker Madigan and the legislators he controls to pass a balanced budget is impacting programs across the state like Teen Reach and underscores the need for reforms to transform state government that will free up resources to help the most vulnerable.

The Rauner Family Y has been trying to place Teen Reach kids in other programs. Many have been given summer jobs and internships.

But the administration is hoping for a last minute save before next Friday.

OK, so back then it was Madigan’s fault that Teen Reach was out of money and the governor was diligently working to resolve the problem.

* From just the other day

.

State Sen. Omar Aquino (D-Chicago) noted that three weeks prior, the governor referred to the quote “Nothing stops a bullet like a job.” Yet, Aquino pointed out, programs such as Teen Reach, crisis prevention, and jobs for youth are absent [from the governor’s proposed budget]. [Scott Harry, the director of the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget] says the savings will be $60 million.

“How many lives will that cost the city of Chicago or the state of Illinois?” Aquino asked.

“I don’t know,” responded Harry.

Emphasis added for obvious reasons.

Just another fill in the blanks PR release. I am sick to death of this.

THIS is what is being thrown away. But, you know, it’s was only leverage. Now, I guess, it’s just “excess”. The Rauners should feel a deep shame, but you’d need to be able to feel compassion to feel shame.

1.4%’s cognitive dissonance must be mind blowing.

“Then” Rauner said; “Now” Rauner does. Nothing about that will change unless the Illinois Democratic Party can get together some consistent messaging to move the needle.

Rauner blames Madigan when Rauner hasn’t proposed a balanced budget, as is a governor’s duty.
Guess Rauner figures he can fool people interminably.
Ever see Woody Allen’s ‘All you ever wanted to know about S..?’ Where he says ‘Woman? What woman??’

…Scott Harry, the director of the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget] says the savings will be $60 million. or about four months income for the Governor. Maybe Rauner can remind us again how much he gives to charity.

  8. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Feb 21, 17 @ 4:29 pm:

When Truman was President he had a sign on his desk that read “the buck stops here”. Rauner is the anti Truman. The state is in crisis and he offers no leadership nor accepts any responsibility for the crisis which has only gotten much worse since he assumed office. When you have a dismal record of accomplishment how do you get re elected? You pass the buck and blame the other party for everything that’s gone wrong on your watch.

  9. - The Governor - Tuesday, Feb 21, 17 @ 4:36 pm:

So you were elected to govern the state of IL! Now, every time there is a issue you blame it on Madigan! I would hope even the most uneducated person would be thinking why can’t the Governor get things done! He is the Governor? Right???

So obviously Rauner realizes running the state is not like running a business. Go back to the capital! Do your job! Work WITH Madigan and the GA and get something done! Ridiculous!!

I wonder why Millionaire Rauner doesn’t use his money to do good for his fellow Illinoisians. Last election he spent enough money on elections to keep every YMCA in the state open.

It’s also worth noting that this Administration has proposed eliminating the funding for Teen Reach in all of its proposed budgets–FY 16, 17 and now 18.

We at ditchninetosurvive.com emphasise that online business is NOT a get rich stuff, honest online opportunities is for those who are ready to take time for the business to develop. It is sad that most people still fall for the promise of gargantuan income. Thank you for visiting our website, and we wish you all the best always.
