JB Pritzker and Jesse White to make “major campaign announcement” tomorrow

Tuesday, Aug 22, 2017 - Posted by Rich Miller

* Secretary White spoke at Pritzker’s event during the State Fair last week, so I’m assuming he’s going to make it official. From a media advisory…

JB Pritzker and Secretary of State Jesse White to Make Campaign Announcement

WHAT: JB Pritzker and Secretary of State Jesse White to be joined by the internationally known Jesse White Tumbling Team and Aldermen Walter Burnett Jr., Michael Scott Jr., Chris Taliaferro, Pat Dowell, and Michelle Harris at a press conference for a major campaign announcement.

There goes the last big group that could be Kennedy’s “base”.

  2. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Aug 22, 17 @ 7:23 pm:

This hurts Kennedy more than Biss.

Kennedy needs to realize that the building in concert with politicos Dem affiliated organizations and leaders will enhance his chances to keep that 44%.

Pritzker’s Crew is efficiently out-maneuvering the Dem field, showing the many diverse groups in politics (Labor, Pols, Organizations) and building a real apparatus where all the groups can help vote pluses

    Congrats to the Pritzker Crew.

    To Biss,

Biss has his own lane, has his avenue within the Bernie type organizing and trying to go from rooms to ballrooms, from ballrooms to gymnasiums, and gymasiums to a movement that can (and will Biss hopes) carry the day in March

While it would’ve been “nice” for Biss if he got Jesse White or kept White neutral, the endorsement will not effect what Biss is trying to organize.

Biss pulling out of the Comptroller race while keeping the $2+ Million he raised is looking like one of the craftiest moves in IL political history.

    White for Lt. Gov…

    Huge primary endorsement.

In a big primary field, JB’s money and organization strength look like a winner.

We’ll see how many actually file. A Not-JB candidate would have a chance in a one-on-one.

  6. - Real - Tuesday, Aug 22, 17 @ 9:22 pm:

Jesse White would of been a great Lt Governor as well. We really need Stratton in the house, but she will do good as well. I prefer White due to his name recognition and Stratton being a rookie.

Looks like Mendoza’s plan to be SOS just went out the window. Now she going to see what Rauner’s 5 mil against her does

  8. - JoeMaddon - Tuesday, Aug 22, 17 @ 11:29 pm:

Aren’t the Jesse White tumblers a C3 organization?

  9. - Real - Tuesday, Aug 22, 17 @ 11:44 pm:

Anyone have any details on the time of this announcement for tomorrow?

  10. - Anon0091 - Wednesday, Aug 23, 17 @ 1:03 am:

At least the Kennedy people have spared us all the bogus claim that Jesse White is bought the way they have made that claim for every other endorsement. This is big for Pritzker and more bad news for Kennedy.

  11. - Iggy - Wednesday, Aug 23, 17 @ 7:46 am:

Madigan, White, JB. Its a Dream team. No one can stop this train

  12. - Real - Wednesday, Aug 23, 17 @ 8:27 am:

I guess you prefer Rauner IPI Koch

Good pickup for Pritzker. If I were Kennedy I’d start spending some money on radio (if he has, I haven’t heard it). He doesn’t need to spend as much as Pritzker, but he can’t just count on the media and hope name recognition does the rest.

But look, this is a Dem primary. LaRouchies can get elected in a Dem primary. We’ll see who turns out. As for Biss, he’s a Madigan stalking horse, even if he doesn’t know it (I suspect he does).
