The Illini last night reminded me of the 2004-2005 team in the way that they seemed to be able do what they wanted at both ends of the floor , and Michigan couldn’t figure out what to do to stop them. No matter what happens over the next few weeks, I will always remember that we were able to watch Ayo entertain us for 3 years and Kofi for 2. They brought the Illini back to being must-see TV
One of my passions is College ( specifically Big 10 ) Basketball. I have followed my Alma Mater religiously during good times as well as those bad times for over 50 years. The Fighting Illini are for real.
Four Big10 Teams in the Top 10, including Illinois. Great Illini win last night at Michigan.

Hmmm. WGN News reports that you can register now for the United Center vaccines if you are over 65. The zocdoc.com/vaccine site given for registration does not yet list the United Center and states that there are no other available appointments at the other locations. What gives here? And Governor Pritzker wonders why so many senior citizens and their children trying to assist them are so frustrated?
I received this email message from my village administrator yesterday. Looks like WGN blew it and caused unnecessary agita.
“Beginning Thursday, March 4 at 8:30 a.m., Illinois seniors can schedule their first COVID-19 vaccine appointment at the United Center vaccine site, which will begin to administer a limited number of vaccines on March 9, with a full opening March 10. Following this exclusive appointment period for seniors, all Illinoisans eligible under the state’s Phase 1B+ will be able to schedule appointments on Sunday, March 7 at 4 p.m.”

“My nickname is Soy Boy”
“Let the will of the people be the law of the land”
“I know that I was put on earth to get this done”
Regarding vaccines at the United Center: Is CPD going to be guarding all the senior citizens from purse snatches and carjackings? And if bad weather sets in, will there be protection from the elements? How long will one have to wait outside to go into an outdoor structure in a parking lot? Where is parking? So many questions, so little help with obtaining this vaccine…
Just received my first dose of Covid vaccine this morning at the IL State Fairgrounds. Appointments are available if you are Phase 1A, 1B, or 1B+. Kudos to the IL National Guard. The process is incredibly well organized and efficient. The young men and women of the IL National Guard will make you proud of our youth. They are simply outstanding.
Thanks, it is a drive from where I am at but I have a 93-year-old friend we keep an eye on (she has no family) and now she has an appointment someplace.
Thanks

Springfield City Council last night voted down, 6-3, Mayor Langfelder’s pick (Roy Williams, Jr.) to replace State Senator Doris Turner in her old Ward 3 alderperson’s seat.
All because of concern that he wasn’t committing to running for a full term in two years? What kind of planet is the city council on? Wouldn’t it be kind of refreshing to have more leaders like Williams committed to doing their job and not constantly worrying about reelection?

If you have a “My Portal” option with your medical provider(s), update it and you will be amazed at how quickly you will have an appointment. I did that with mine (HSHS) and had an appointment the next day. My wife and I have now had both shots.
Please don’t let the Millers fall off your radar. They and their ilk are a very real threat to civic order and democracy. They mask it in unctuous piety which moves their base. Pay attention…puhleeze.

Mayor Acri of Moline is continuing to put pressure on WIU to improve their QC campus or they will continue to shop for other partner institutions.
According to the QC Times, the WIU-Quad Cities campus is down to only 168 students (only 4 were freshmen):
