Got notified by HR that I’m a victim of the false unemployment claim scam. I knew that was an issue earlier in the pandemic but I didn’t realize it was still going on.

  2. - RNUG - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 9:07 am:

Going to be a nice weekend for the RT-66 Motor Road Festival here in downtown Springfield. Need to go pick up my registration credentials later today. That’s where you’ll find me this weekend.

Remarkable couple weeks for the Cards. 11 wins in a row. As bad as this team was earlier this season, and acting like they had given up at the trade deadline, being 4.5 up in the last wild card is quite an achievement.

If we have any pension questions we know where to find RNUG. I am interested to see how the Kaegi Steele matchup going to pan out. Kaegi got elected as a reformer and he is trying to reform the unreformable. Now an opponent is coming along and saying he reforming too much? Curious h oi w that going to play out

    @tea_and_honey

Sorry to hear that, I got hit last November. You should treat it as identity theft. Here is a good page about what to do: https://www.terrysavage.com/identity-theft-update/

Your HR may have already reported it to IDES, but to make sure, here is the page to report it:

    https://ides.illinois.gov/unemployment/fraud-id-theft/reporting-unemployment-insurance-fraud/fraud-id-theft.html

I got credit reports from the three firms, and also set up accounts with them and froze my credit.

I also reported the incident using a page with the FCC. This stores the information that you submit along with a case number. It creates a form which you can use as evidence if troubles arise from this in the future. The page is at:

    https://www.identitytheft.gov/

Save all your paper on this, probably for at least 5 years.

FTC (Federal Trade Commission) not the FCC

=== I am interested to see how the Kaegi Steele matchup going to pan out. ===

Kaegi over-promised and under-delivered. People thought that their property taxes were going to go down, and they were wrong. The South Suburbs continues to be hit hard and those folks are angry about it. Also saw that Kaegi has the lowest name ID out of the Countywide electeds and is actually already within the margin of error with Steele. Should be fun to watch.

I lost a couple hours of my life to the HermanCainAwards subreddit after yesterday’s post…

===People thought that their property taxes were going to go down===

While that may be true, they voted for Kaegi because, among other things, he promised to make the system more equitable. Some folks are finding out that they were benefiting from the old system.

  10. - NonAFSCMEStateEmployeeFromChatham - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 9:41 am:

John Keating, Springfield activist and last year’s Green Party candidate in the 96th House against Sue Scherer, was arrested in connection with arson of a vendor stand at the State Fair last month:

If Windhorst runs again, that will make 3 Repubs vying for the 118th.

Power outage at the Thompson Center

  13. - truthteller - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 10:03 am:

White Sox can clinch the title today with a win and Indians loss

  14. - 62468 - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 10:14 am:

Is ISP planning to send troopers to Chicago on an anti-violence operation/campaign? Will several troopers from each downstate district be sent to Cook County on a rotating basis into 2022?

Did Lori, David, Toni, Tom and/or Kim request assistance from ISP? How will moving manpower up north impact operations and citizen safety in downstate ISP districts?

What are the costs associated with such an operation (hotels, per diem, overtime etc.)?

  15. - Retired and still in Illinois - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 10:21 am:

No matter how crazy the world gets, it’s good to see the Cards and Cubs are in their proper respective places in the standings. s/ ( a little bit anyway)

  16. - BigLou - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 11:55 am:

Anyone else find it a strange coincidence that the week Kari Steele announces she is running for assessor that the live feed of the MWRD meeting that she presides over is not available?

  17. - West Side the Best Side - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 12:04 pm:

Think Kaegi will be hurt by lowering The Former Guy Tower assessment.

  18. - anon2 - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 12:34 pm:

I understand how participating in abortion could violate someone’s deeply held beliefs. I don’t get how taking a covid test violates the conscience. What am I missing?

  19. - Justin - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 1:05 pm:

Seeing the Cards in good position to clinch the final NL Wild Card spot is a good thing, considering a couple of weeks ago that the Cardinals were essentially out of it.

  20. - Amalia - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 1:40 pm:

Please get it done in game one, Sox.

  21. - Keyrock - Thursday, Sep 23, 21 @ 7:13 pm:

    Interesting interview with Kinzinger.
