  1. - Proud Papa Bear - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:26 am:

Nothing on Thursday- just football and maybe I’ll see if my local Chinese place is open.
Picking my son up from Milwaukee on Friday. Can’t wait to see him.

  2. - Cubs in '16 - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:40 am:

Overeat and spend the rest of the day regretting it. Same as every year.

  3. - Because I said so... - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:45 am:

Cooking, eating, drinking and being incredibly grateful for my loving family.

  4. - West Sider - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:47 am:

Sis-in-law was hosting but came down with whatever going around- so last moment plans change, and friends are coming to us.

  5. - Nick Name - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:48 am:

Turkey on the grill, most but not all the fixins’. Football (not futbol) on TV. Food coma followed by Plains, Trains, and Automobiles or some other movie.

  6. - thunderspirit - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:52 am:

Family, food, and counting blessings. That’s the plan.

  7. - Vote Quimby - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 8:57 am:

Daughters coming from out of state to my mothers… looking forward to family, food and ‘Merican football.

  8. - Amalia - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:00 am:

Turkey, multiple kinds of cranberry, and pies, oh the pies.

  9. - Jerry - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:10 am:

Here I thought the Chinese restaurants were open on Christmas so the Jews had a place to order from. (drum snare)

Usual Thanksgiving trimmings. In the summer Trader Joes sells a Meyer Lemon cake mix and it was a hit last year so repeating it again this year.

  10. - froganon - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:16 am:

Thanksgiving at our place but our daughter, grandson and other family bring the turkey, pies and sides. I only have to clean the place and make the stuffing and game snacks. Happy face emojis.

  11. - JS Mill - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:24 am:

=Food coma followed by Plains, Trains, and Automobiles or some other movie.=

Ditto. P,T&A is singularly the greatest holiday comedy of all time. Cannot be Thanksgiving without it.

  12. - Flapdoodle - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:25 am:

The World Cup of the true football will roll on with four games, including favorite Brazil making its first appearance of the tournament. I’ll watch all four games, even the one starting at 4:00 AM, as I have so far and will continue doing until the tournament ends. Why? Because I can and because I love it.

  13. - Langhorne - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:27 am:

Me, my dog, football, maybe a martini.
    Shrimp cocktail.
Duck pasta with spinach on linguine, w garlic bread.
    Friends coming over on Saturday.
Though a difficult year, much to be grateful for.

  14. - Huh? - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:30 am:

Meals with Sheba in front of the TV watching the World Cup.

Friday, meeting up with brother and his family.

  15. - Lynn S. - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:37 am:

Meyer lemon cake mix? I’m sooo jealous (banned punctuation).

Thanksgiving Day will be very quiet around here. We may try to do a roof repair.

Food will be a mix of homemade and deli dishes.

Friday and Saturday, we’re road tripping to Tower Rock and Portageville, MO. I’ve seen pictures and heard stories; I want to actually see and experience the Mississippi River at this low point.

With any luck, will get to go to 17th St. BBQ.

  16. - Levois - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:42 am:

Well got to make that double time and then chill at home. Perhaps go to the movies. :)

  17. - JoanP - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 9:50 am:

I’ll be cleaning the apartment. This is a hangover from the days when I had an open house the weekend after Thanksgiving. My sibs are out of state and avoid the worst travel days of the year, so I rarely do anything on the day of.

  18. - Steve Rogers - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 10:04 am:

Kids coming home from college. Looking forward to just catching up with them

  19. - snowman61 - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 10:50 am:

Handing up north to appleton area to see the grandkids and our son and wonderful DIL. While we are up there for a few days, will be looking into homes as wifes retirement is within sight and we are planning to move up there.

  20. - Homebody - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 11:17 am:

I’m a transplant to Chicago, so no local family. Thankfully I have a close friend whose family is kind enough to include me at their house.

  21. - thisjustinagain - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 11:27 am:

Party of one for a variety of reasons. But I hope others have a great Thanksgiving; somebody deserves to.

  22. - Demoralized - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 12:16 pm:

20 people in my house. Heaven help me.

  24. - stateandlake - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 12:58 pm:

Family and MIL going to a restaurant that has a great Thanksgiving plate on the menu. No muss, no fuss. Thankful for all our blessings (banned punctuation)

  25. - Dotnonymous - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 1:23 pm:

    Sweet potato pie…ad libitum.

  26. - Chito - Tuesday, Nov 22, 22 @ 3:58 pm:

Off topic but can we talk about the “Battle of Archer Ave”? AKA Mexico vs Poland in the World Cup? Ended in a tie, but the most exciting tie ever. Mexico’s Ochoa saved a penalty kick from none other than Robert Lewandowski, one of the best forwards in the game. Both teams have their work cut out for them because of Argentina’s stunning loss to Saudi Arabia, but for now peace reigns along the Archer corridor in Chicago’s SW side.
