Pwned!

Tuesday, Sep 17, 2013 - Posted by Rich Miller

* This photo was shared by Gov. Quinn’s campaign. It’s from a Labor Day event that Bill Daley apparently did not advance all that well…

Oof.

Best caption wins a free beverage on me anywhere in Illinois.

…Adding… You can watch Daley’s 9:30 press conference live by clicking here.

…Adding More… This just doesn’t make sense…

He adamantly refuses to endorse the incumbent Democratic governor and leaves open the possibility that he could endorse Gov. Quinn’s Republican opponent, yet he’s angry that anyone would dare question his Democratic bona fides?

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Bill.

As Pat Quinn conjures the clouds to spread over Illinois, Bill Daley falls under the shadow.

  9. - AFSCME Steward - Tuesday, Sep 17, 13 @ 9:46 am:

Incredible. A candidate for Governor, completely surrounded by signs endorsing his opponent. Inept campaigning of the highest order.

  10. - AFSCME Steward - Tuesday, Sep 17, 13 @ 9:48 am:

Dear Sirs, I wish to object on the strongest possible terms the signs endorsing Pat Quinn. A lot of my friends are Democrats and only a few of them are Quinns.

  21. - OneMan - Tuesday, Sep 17, 13 @ 10:00 am:

Sadly most in the crowd thought that was in fact Pat Quinn, if you have seen one balding late middle aged candidate you have seen them all.

The real reason he quit the race is that he thinks he’s too good for us.

  33. - AFSCME Steward - Tuesday, Sep 17, 13 @ 10:21 am:

  42. - 47th Ward - Tuesday, Sep 17, 13 @ 10:45 am:

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, and this is a very very happy day for me and uh, my wife, Mrs. Daley. We see Springfield far too seldom. But particularly today when we can, we can join with old friends, we can make new friends and we help celebrate a young man’s first big-time appointment. And also, to thank that boy’s political family for a magnificent contribution to the state. I have here in my hand, an IOU — made out to the University, and it is a magnificent endowment in the name of uh, Ryan Croke, and the IOU is signed by that young man’s Governor — whom I think we should recognize. Pat, stand up please, stand up, let the folks see you. Folks, I want you to join with me in giving a real Springfield thank-you to Governor Pat Quinn!

We also have as a special added attraction, the Bridgeport Boys Choir. Who have, uh, chosen a certain special song, in a special arrangement, to honor their host, Governor Pat Quinn. Boys.

  43. - Anonymous - Tuesday, Sep 17, 13 @ 10:51 am:

But before I go, I’m proud to introduce the man who would have made my candidacy invincible as my running mate. Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for Scott. Lee. Cohen!

And the sign said long haired freaky people need not apply,
So I scratched my bald head and went in to ask him why,
He said you look like Old Man Daley’s son, I think you’ll do
Then I passed out and fell to the floor, then blamed the flu!

    Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
For my poor opponent, changing my mind
Run for mayor, run for gov, can’t you read the sign?
