* From the Illinois Republican Party…
Who should be held accountable when leaders defy the law, endanger our communities, and protect illegal immigrants over American citizens?
President Trump just said what many Illinoisans have been thinking for a long time:
Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Governor JB Pritzker should be in jail.
Why? Because instead of standing with our ICE agents and instead of helping law enforcement protect our border, they stood in the way. They chose open borders. They chose sanctuary policies. They chose criminal chaos over American security.
I’M WITH TRUMP
HOLD ILLINOIS DEMOCRATS ACCOUNTABLE
Now, National Guard troops are being deployed to Chicago — not to protect citizens from foreign invasion but to stop our own leaders from undermining immigration enforcement.
This isn’t just political theater. It’s life and death for families across Illinois. Every illegal immigrant released, every ICE officer obstructed, every criminal protected by Democrat leadership is a threat to our safety.
And while Pritzker and Johnson cry foul, a federal judge just confirmed what we already knew: ICE was following orders, and Democrat leaders were deliberately obstructing justice.
The Left is furious that Trump is holding them accountable. We say: it’s about time.
We stand with law enforcement, with ICE, and with every American who believes in the rule of law. But we need your help to fight back.
STAND WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT
This is bigger than politics. This is about justice and safety. Are you with us?
Sincerely,
Illinois Republicans
* Response from the Democratic Party of Illinois…
This email is nothing but an extension of the President’s dangerous disregard for the law. What’s clear here is that Donald Trump is a wannabe dictator who does not value the Constitution and Illinois Republicans are nothing more than his lap dogs. Instead of seeking to jail their political opponents and inciting violence in their communities, every single Republican in the state should condemn this violent, hateful rhetoric.

This kind of stuff is ridiculous. I have been a Republican my entire life. I was a committeeman in DuPage I am a RINO my party left me years ago and if they would look around and see who is running the collar counties it sure isn’t them. The get what they deserve. I try to find a Republican to vote for but they are few and far between. I guess I am an independent. If you want people in jail start with a convicted felon. I will tell you where to look

==Every illegal immigrant released, every ICE officer obstructed, every criminal protected by Democrat leadership is a threat to our safety.==
I know I feel safer when I see tamale vendors getting black bagged and cosplay soldiers indiscriminately gassing civilians and Chicago cops. Don’t you?
==ICE was following orders==
This is a great line of defense and I hope it works as well for them as it has historically.

=Are you with us?=
No. You are a super minority party because that’s the path you’ve chosen. Calling for the Governor and Mayor to be jailed will get you a few likes on Facebook. It won’t allow you to win any elections of consequence. You can keep this message for future reference when you’re having an election post mortem discussion.

OK, I’ll play. Name the charge that you would have your political opponents in jail for. And if you say “obstruction,” feel free to give examples.

Let these courageous MAGA GOP leaders make their case for Pritzker and Johnson’s imprisonment in Chicago to Chicagoans.

Of course Republicans tout accountability and abiding by the law with zero self awareness.

I hear this kind of excrement repeated at my Park District fitness center. I don’t even go there anymore first thing in the morning to avoid the blather. They tend to straggle out by 10:00 or so.

IIRC, several GOP elected officials, including a now Congress critter and several state reps were there participating in some of the festivities.

Jib,
“8 U.S.C. § 1324 addresses the illegal bringing in and harboring of aliens in the United States, outlining various offenses such as smuggling, transporting, and concealing unauthorized immigrants. Violations can result in severe penalties, including fines and imprisonment, depending on the circumstances of the offense.”

Rage, rage, against the dying of the light… these are the last gasps of a dying party, one who made themselves irrelevant by choice, with outdated beliefs and ways of thinking . I just wish they would finish their collapse and let us get on with our work in peace.

Ok, can you send your party leader to serve time where he belongs and unpardon all of the violent felons he pardoned? Then I will believe you are for law and order.
Also, if Pritzker ran Illinois like trump is running the fed who exactly does the ilgop think would be getting investigated and thrown in the clink?
Spoiler alert…the members of the ilgop. Good thing for them Pritzker is a relatively honest governor.
I wonder if they thought about that at all? None of them have been threatened by the governor. Not one.

Just got a mass mailer from state GOP chair Kathy Salvi trying to raise money for the state party off of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. Beyond disgusting. Pritzker doesn’t have much to worry about unfortunately.

I can’t get over how bizarre it is to hear right-wingers, let alone official Republican Party communications, supporting the use of federal forces and troops against their own state.
Growing up and spending most of my life in right-wing circles, that was always their biggest tyrannical fear. All the other openly authoritarian stuff is concerning too, of course, but the “small government” support for the “Unitary Executive’s” invasion of their homes with federal troops really stands out to me.

===8 U.S.C. § 1324 addresses===
lol
That may apply to the Texas governor, who bused and flew undocumented people to Illinois, but that’s about it.

I established a pretty good rule of thumb about 20 years ago following the Coulson-Bromberg race, which I have always encouraged Democrats to follow.
What I learned is that it does not matter whether your attack is legally true or rhetorically brilliant if your allies and volunteers are unwilling or unable to repeat it.
That’s how you craft a message that literally “resonates.”
And so I think it’s telling that this particular message is not attributed to any individual, but to the “Republican Party.”
I’d start calling Republican lawmakers and ask them whether or not they agree that Pritzker should be arrested.
Let’s hear from the lobbyists and business leaders that fill the GOP coffers too.
Let’s put a Resolution up on the board in the GOP’s own words, and force them to vote on it.
My bet is that few if any are ready to jump on this Bandwagon to Nowhere.
Comment by Yellow Dog Democrat Thursday, Oct 16, 25 @ 1:11 pm
So the IL GOP is going with the “following orders” approach now??
Comment by Friendly Bob Adams Thursday, Oct 16, 25 @ 2:18 pm
=My bet is that few if any are ready to jump on this Bandwagon to Nowhere.=
Clearly by design. Just enough plausible deniability for any of them to claim, “I never said that.” So politically it would seem to accomplish nothing. I’m sure it stirs the base but beyond that it further establishes the parties irrelevance. The ILGOP has given up on winning.

This site is full of leftist propaganda.
If the citizens only knew if the crimes the Pritzker administration has committed in IDOC.
What a society it would be if we protected our law abiding citizens as much as our criminals.

If you know of crimes, report them. Or expose them yourself. Why are you covering them up?
Comment by Rich Miller Thursday, Oct 16, 25 @ 4:35 pm
=== Why are you covering them up? ===
Agreed. If you know of crimes being committed in the Illinois Dept. of Corrections, please call the John Howard Association. They have been an extraordinary watchdog for 120 years.
I am sure Pritzker would want you to call them as well.
They are easy to find with any search engine.

It’s inspiring that after all those years getting your law degree you devoted yourself to civil service. Maybe if you find some time in between turning keys and watching TV you can pick up the phone and contact the OIG.

You sound just like my MAGA friends who all “have friends” cheating medicaid and other assistance programs. When challenged as to why they dont report the crimes they become very silent. Funny how that happens.
