District officials admitted Wednesday that in the past, the highly competitive schools have let in students who didn’t even go through the normal application process, and there was no district oversight.

Now, principal picks will be reviewed by CPS and an outside auditor.

  2. I saw your “Blagojevich Attorneys to Play Tapes When He Testifies”.
    That must have been a typo, right?

    I think that you probably meant to say” Blagojevich Attorneys to Play Taps When He Testifies”. Sometimes an inadvertant additional letter like an “e” can make quite a difference.
