Too bad the general election does not allow for separate voting for Lt Gov. JBT and the new and improved Quinn…Illinois wins. Hope JBT can ultimately overcome the drag of Birkett and then keep him in box.

I hate having to say, mmmmmmm…… it would have been nice if they concentrated their efforts in certain places. But Brady probably should of spent more time in the Chicago area.

And, Eisendrath should of spent sometime down south and central IL instead of focusing on the Chicago area.

That first map is actually wrong. Oberweis won Adams County, not Topinka.

I may be going out on a limb here, but I’m guessing that the EE wins in East Central Counties happened for two reasons:
1) His wife’s deep family roots in the Paris area had to help.
2) The Champaign County race, although hurt by U of I spring break, was definitely affected by the pension issue. A dem county board race in Urbana and a school referendum in Champaign (down in flames 2-1) also helped turnout. Those latter two ballot items IMHO likely brought more anti-Rod than pro-Rod voters in to the polls.

It is interesting that the counties that Eisendrath won are in the same area that Keyes won two years ago.

Something looks strange in Macoupin County. I’m finding it hard to believe that more people pulled Democrat ballots there than in Champaign County and more than in 2002 when the Democrat nomination was actually a contest.

The Sun-Times numbers are consistent with what the county is reporting, but I’m still having a hard time believing it. If turnout really was that high there, there is a story to be told.

The Governor appears to have run about 65-35 outside of Cook if may math is right.
