leaders meet over….session day wednesday, probably look at 12-months capital bill…no new money
Translation: They’re coming back to town next Wednesday. They’ll try do do a “clean” capital bill for a year without any Senate Democratic add-ons.
The key to the future is how Senate President Cullerton’s caucus reacts. If they dig in their heels and demand that extra budgetary spending, it could be a very long summer.

How about they just pretend to shut down the construction projects this weekend, kind of like how they used to stop the clock at 11:59 p.m?
It would be the height of silliness to actually start that process until after next Wednesday.

Actually the House is just resuming the regular session. No special session has been called.

I’m not going to bother going thru the archives to find where all you guys laughed at my earlier prediction that session could wind up into early July. Everybody was soooo certain everything was a lock by the May deadline.
