* Gov. Pat Quinn got a little bit overzealous with his pats on the back yesterday…
What appeared to be intended as a pat on the back turned into a little bit more than Emanuel bargained for.
“Thank you for the hit in the back,” Emanuel said — Quinn flashing a devilish grin next to him. “Thank god I was holding the podium when you did that.”
The two men recently, reportedly got into a heated argument on the telephone over gambling legislation. Maybe this was Quinn’s way of getting him back? […]
McCarthy, tough guy that he is, invited Quinn’s masculine back-slap when it was his turn to be introduced.
“Did you hurt yourself,” McCarthy quipped to the governor.

Quinn barely touched Emanuel. He’s just not a big dude.
Still, when you wear expensive suits like Emanuel does, you probably don’t want the material fingered by a guy who has a standing order at the Mickey D’s drive-thru.
Quinn thudded McCarthy pretty good, though.

Funny Wordslinger! I am upset by th efact that he excluded Ms. Alverez from the antics. Of course, if he had hit her, i’d cry abuse.

Classic. Actually just Quinn stroking his inner (and public) ego by openly remindin’ all of those other LOCAL “powers that be” that “Go ahead, say your bit, but, just remember, like it or not, ILLINOIS is bigger than any of YOUR jurisdictions and what you do, and I DO run this WHOLE place, and I DOOOOOOOOO still have a BIT more POWer than any ONE of ya–get it? Oh, and, bark at me all that you may…that includes you, too, RAHMbo…!”
