So instead of the schools profitting from the sales of junk food, the 7-11 across the street from the high school will.
And they say public education is fighting privatization…profit margin at the 7-11 is probably higher, too.

Are speeding tickets written to enforce safety on the roads or as a profit center? If officers start writting tickets as a source of additional revenue as incentive, that’s just wrong.

Many tickets written are already based on a certain ‘quota’ of enforcement already. It is doubtful that any individual officer will increase the amount of tickets written for some increased revenue of which he/she will probably not even see any benefit. What might result is less ‘discretion’ at the hands of officers. They may write tickets in place of verbal/written warnings but if you violate then it is your own fault anyway.
I just wish they’d tack the increase on ticket fines and not on supervision costs. Repeat offenders have a tougher time getting supervision in the first place. They are the ones who need to be nailed.
