  1. Nice ad

  2. That’s a strong ad. It touts independence without going overboard to bash either Quinn or Dems generally.

“Independent” and “saves jobs” are good things to run on.

  3. I like the “Endorsed by the NRA” on the bottom of the screen. Then he goes to Springfield and his first vote is for John Cullerton as President of the Senate.

  4. This is next ad, it starts with a picture of Pat Quinn…

  5. It’s odd that Sen. Forby does not do his own narration. The ad soundsd like others are speaking for him.

  6. It’s never a good thing for a candidate when you’re running away from your party. the problem with politicians who go the facial hair route is that you look different in pictures if you change and some voters could get confused-he uses shots in this-at the :19 mark- where he has a full beard and some not.

It’s a federal or statewide level ad on the positive side.

You are right. When it comes to ads, he should have taken notes from his opponent’s camp.

    Best, worst ad ever!

  8. Forby doesn’t speak for himself because his grasp of the english language is just not there. I am not sure where he was brought up but when he speaks it is painful. Gov. Quinn will probably stay North of Springfield for the rest of his term and Forby will talk bad about him until he is reelectd and then all will be well.

  9. It’s a strong spot. Nothing wrong with being independent.

  10. Good ad, but it would mean if he actually ran as an independent…

  11. I live down in his area. I will tell you that this boy is on his way out !! He is trying to run from Quinn because he knows people down here are done with most all of his kind.

  12. @Shore: Quinn is not “the party” - hence, Forby is not “running away from [his] party”.

Got any data to back that up?

The lack of any GOP money until 1 recent mailing for Forby’s opponent Mark Minor speaks very loudly. It tells me the party isn’t ‘all in’ on their own candidate. This is particularly deafening silence in light of the million plus Forby and Burzynski each spent in 2008 for this seat.

If anything the data tells me that Forby gets a pass on this round and the GOP will try to recruit a better candidate next time.

  16. I think all dems would be smart to dump on Quinn but he is up against more than that he is up against a region that is way way out of step with the state it is in. I think the rest of the posts showing and Illinos to not like the NRA though I am sure it is very popular in the southern tip.

  17. Still wish southern Illinois could be a separate state, from Chicago, but I know that is where the money is at……sad….

No, they do not. Betting against Forby is like betting on the Cubs.
