More TV ads and videos

* The DCCC has a couple of new TV ads. The first attacks Bob Dold

Script…

Congressman Dold: “We don’t need party politics we need independent leadership…”

Voiceover: We agree Congressman Dold.

But over and over you put the Republican party ahead of the rest of us.

You voted the party line to essentially end Medicare.

You voted to let insurance companies charge women higher premiums.

You support Mitt Romney for president and his plan to cut Social Security benefits.

That’s not independent leadership Congressman Dold…that’s just being a Republican.

* The second DCCC ad whacks Judy Biggert

Script…

Voiceover: Groceries

…gas…

…tax cuts for the wealthy and pay raises for Judy Biggert?

After thirty years in politics, Judy Biggert isn’t on our side.

She left the middle class behind, voting to bankroll tax cuts for the wealthy…

…by removing Medicare’s promise and increasing costs for us

With nine votes to raise her own pay, no wonder Biggert’s looking out for the wealthy.

Illinois can’t afford Judy Biggert.

* The Illinois GOP has a new video about Brad Schneider. From a press release…

Brad Schneider is the progressive Democrat running for Congress in Illinois’ 10th District. Schneider supports massive tax increases, borrowing money “all day long,” Occupy Wall Street, and the far-left lobby J Street. But at least he has a solid business background—or so we thought.

After touting his business credentials for 17 months, Mr. Schneider reported on his official personal financial disclosure forms that his business, Cadence Consulting Group LLC., has not earned income for at least three years. Breitbart.com, The Washington Free Beacon, Examiner.com and others have all reported on Schneider’s embellished business background.

“Brad Schneider needs to come clean about his business background,” said Illinois Republican Party Chairman Pat Brady. “Voters aren’t sure what to believe from him now.”

  1. LLC’s aren’t designed to make money…?

That said, the fact that his company has less than $1,000 in assets is strange, but I suppose possible. What was his payroll? What was his gross revenue? They may be on to something, but it’s hard to tell. Unfortunately I can’t play the actual ad atm.

  2. ILGOP forgot to reference Illinois Review. Sheesh.

Did the Republicans get this Schneider non story planted in any real media?

And how does Dold account for the fact the bug companies he owns outright were losing money… And his apparently huge loss on old north side home (the Chicago house that was mysteriously so close to the 10th district that Dold still voted in the 10th)… And that Rose Pest now seems to be doing much better WITHOUT Dold there.

  4. Curious, is anyone seeing these on broadcast in Chicagoland?

  5. Wow. Swiftboat much?

That attack on Schneider is a ridiculous shameful ploy straight out of the Swiftboat playbook - create a fake controversy out of nothing that directly questions your opponent’s strengths regardless of reality. Then have the the sham conservative blogosphere run the story to lend “credibility.” Finally, put it in an ad.

At least the attack ad on Dold focuses on votes.

This is another blatant, dirty political smear job and what turns off voters to politics. Shame on Dold and the IL GOP. Apparently this is how they like to run elections. Didn’t they do the same to Seals and his associate professor (or whatever it was) title last cycle?

Clearly, the GOP know they cannot win on issues in the new 10th, so they resort to this. It is only going to get worse in the next several weeks. IMHO - its not enough. Schneider is winning the Tenth.

  6. That’s 2 ads today that use the 30 years in politics charge against biggert which is an attack I’ve never seen anywhere against her. There’s no coordination though, right?

  7. Brad Schneider has spent his entire campaign telling us how his business experience qualified him to serve as our congressman. As it turns out Brad Schneider has zero experience and zero qualifications to serve as our congressman

Comment by Tyler Tuesday, Oct 2, 12 @ 4:10 pm

  8. Brad Schneider distorted his business record as a candidate…you think he won’t distort his record as a congressman?

  9. Was the Biggert ad run by the Democrats or by Brady? She’s a MYOB conservative which infuriates both parties leaders and accurately reflected a majority of voters in her old district. If she can get the MYOB message out to the women in her new district she’ll beat Foster.
