His theatrics and rhetoric can be absurd, but the establishment of this country and state is not doing a lot of good right now and so I think this is a plus. Remember it was the tea party that got the gop off its social issues and war focus to lock on to the economy and I think while walsh strays from that-he’ll stay focused on the fiscal things which are important.

You sure about that? I remember some of the darlings of the Tea Party talking an awful lot about social issues and war in the last election cycle.
Remember all those GOP presidential debates with Bachman, Santorum, Cain, et. al? Akin, Mourdock and Walsh and their biology lessons?
Walsh’s page has generated 906 likes since Jan. 4. I’m guessing that makes him the front-runner in the GOP primary for governor.

the most motivated voters, and the candidate that can GET those motivated voter to the polls for them, especially in a very crowded primary, wins.
Bill Brady learned that its true in the Primary Win, and it’s true in a General Election Loss.

The other thought that I have is that he is just trying crow and strut like a rooster to stay in the spotlight so he can be a radio or TV talk show host. Wasn’t there something on here a while back that he is already lined up to do a radio show?

He doesn’t want to be GOP Chair. That’s a volunteer job. How will the past due child support get paid? It has to be taken out of a government check.

Yes, CK, it’s the word “they” that gets to me. Who are “they”? His constituents. The people he represented (well, some of them… I know; he ran in a very different district after he finished district-shopping). The people who voted. The people who were exposed to his message ad nauseum - and rejected it. Walsh needs to quit acting as though a bunch of extraterrestrials picked him up out of his seat on the House floor and deposited him back in whatever suburban cul-de-sac he inhabits. Real Illinois men and women - the ones whose freedom he now says he wants to protect - voted him out of there. The hubris, offensiveness, and willful denial evident in his new message are staggering, even by his standards.

I will say right now that if Walsh runs for Governor I will personally start a super PAC to help him get nominated. It will take donations from anyone and everyone who would like to see him receive the GOP nomination. I’ll even make it dark-money.
There are few things that would please me more than seeing that happen.

Here, let me clarify for those who don’t seem to understand what the…I believe…13 words mean when they’re all put together so that you can stop speculating about the whole “they” issue:
1) Audience: His supporters (not detractors)
2) “They”: Those who did not vote for him (his detractors)
So the full message is that he’s going to keep advocating for:
- what he believes
- with his supporters.
That wasn’t that difficult after all, was it? And shore’s absolutely right about the Tea Party thing.

After a failed attempt at the gubernatorial primary, Walshy will move on to fail to run for Durbin’s seat, and finally try to join Oberweis as a State Senator. Duffy will beat him, in a cliffhanger.
