Apostolic ministers, including the chief apostle for all of Cook County, plan to ask 12 of the 17 candidates now on the ballot for the 2nd Congressional District race to consider dropping out of the campaign.
Chief Apostle William Malloy will lead the group of clergy from Chicago’s far South Side and surrounding suburbs in a news conference Friday at the Am I My Brother’s Keeper Outreach Church, 283 E. 14th St.
Robert Storman, a spokesman for Thornton Township Democratic Committeeman Frank Zuccarelli, who is helping to organize the event, said the group is concerned voters will be confused with 17 people seeking the Democratic Party nomination for the Illinois 2nd Congressional District post in the Feb. 26 primary.
They’d like the fringe candidates that polls thus far are showing with less than 1 percent support to drop out — leaving a field consisting of former state Rep. Robin Kelly, of Matteson; former Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson, of Crete; state Sens. Toi Hutchinson, D-Olympia Fields, and Napoleon Harris, D-Flossmoor; and Chicago 9th Ward Alderman Anthony Beale.
Some of those other candidates are vanity candidates, so I doubt any of them will ever drop out.

I was with it till the laundry list. She read that off really fast and it was hard to follow. Could have used another few takes, or possibly dropping a few lines.

Spot on Robin
The NRA is responsible for the deaths of so many children in the 2nd. We wouldn’t want you to address the lack of education, parenting and the out of control drug culture.

Aaron Schock gave an interview yeterday wherein he said candidates for Governor who ran before and lost should drop out. Same theory as the minister, but it is just wishful thinking.

When is it too late to drop out? The primary is a month away, so the ballots are going to get printed any day now. Can you drop out after the ballots are printed?

clearly Robin Kelly has been a 24/7/365 year in year out million mom march/gun violence activist for decades. Can’t they just convince raja to move into the district so at least they’ll have someone who pretends to be serious?

Too focused on one policy topic for right now. I would have expected more of an introduction to who she is. Her early problem is not policy — it’s name recognition.

So Kelly is going to eliminate gun crimes in one of the most gun restrictive areas of the country by trying to make gun even more “illegaler”?
And we’e to think that being extra double super illegal will be more effective than having them just be illegal?
