· One of the scarier ledes I’ve seen in a while: When Exelon upped power output by nearly 18 percent at its Quad Cities plant in 2002, key components began shaking so badly that vibration monitors were thrown from their mounts and insulation fell from steam lines.

Since Medicaid late payment penalties aren’t counted until HFS pays the bills, there’s still a very large penalty amount still accruing. Maybe an additional $30 million. The one question Chambers should have asked in his interview with the HFS spokesperson is whether the penalties were included in the agency’s budget or left out. The answer is, of course, they left those obligations out of the budget, so there’s no money specified to pay them. If they decide to pay interest penalties, they will simply delay regular payments even longer.
And these are just the automatic payments allowed by law. Medical providers who, by rule, have to request interest penaties are owed an additional $20-$30 million. The total penalty tab is much larger than HFS is reporting.

As far as the Hate Crimes Commission thing goes I was at a event this weekend called the Greater Jewish Festival in Morton Grove, great music,food,people. Someone had a booth called Jewish Political something and they had petitions for people to sign about the whole Hate Crimes Commission debacle, I asked the guy how many signatures they had and at about 2:00pm he said they got about 4000 up to that point.

I knew someone was going to let this issue resurface. The Gov’s office thought it was done, well cooked and eaten.

Rich suggests invading Missouri. The only question I have is that it might be smarter to wait for St. Louis City and St. Louis County to simply ask to be annexed. The basic problem is the State of Missouri is…

Lovie’s Leather, I am a member of the Republican Jewish Coalition and I am completely unaware of any organizational endorsement for Topinka in the primary or for any other candidate in any other primary.
