  4. Tio Hardiman may not have a real shot of wiiing any U.S. Senate bid, but he certainly is keeping the spotlight on gun violence in Chicago and for this I am grateful…

Comment by Soccermom Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:40 am

  12. Looking out at the road rushing under my heels
Looking back at the years gone by like so many campaign yields
In one race I got “seventeen” and running up the vote total
I don’t know where I’m running now, I’m just running on

Running on - running on Dopey
    Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
    But I’m “running behind”

Gotta do what you can just to keep “ego” alive
Trying not to confuse it with what you do to survive
The next race I got “twenty-one” and the press called the race over
I don’t know when that road turned onto the road I’m on

Running on - running on Dopey
    Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
    But I’m “running behind”

Everyone I know, everywhere I go
People need some reason to giggle
I don’t know about anyone but me
If it takes all night, that’ll be all right
If I can get you to smile before I leave

Looking out at the road rushing under my heels
I know you know how just how crazy this campaign feels
I look around for the friends that I used to turn to to pull me through
Looking into their eyes I see them run away too

Running on - running on Dopey
    Running on - running blind
Running on - running into the sun
    But I’m “running behind”

    Money, you really tempt me
You know the way you look “so kind”
I’d love to have more but I’m “running behind”
You know I don’t even know why I’m hoping to win
Running into the sun but I’m running again

  14. @FakeRutherfordDan - All that is missing is the tread mill, a Bruce Willis movie and a Scheduled Friday Press Flop #SeenThisMovieBefore

Comment by Oswego Willy Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:43 am

  15. Knome: No. But they like GEICO for some reason. However, this is Illinois, and there have been some unusual nominees for various offices in varying circumstances and situations.

Comment by Oswego Willy Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:46 am

  17. If he’s actually running in that shot that’s not much of a stride. My guess it was staged.

Comment by Stones Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:55 am

  18. “Tio Hardiman, MA, where the MA stands for Misses Attention”

As an aside, listing degrees after someone else’s name is OK as a show of respect/courtesy. Listing them (or something like Esq. for lawyers) after your own name screams I have a huge ego.

Comment by Ron Burgundy Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 10:56 am

  19. With apologies to Duran Duran…
His name is Tio and his campaign’s stuck in sand.
Just like that Plummer dreamin’ out in lumber land.
And now he’s running for attention..that’s his plan.
Oh Tio, Tio, your ambitions are too grand.

Comment by Jake From Elwood Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 11:04 am

  20. who?

  22. Keeping himself out of handcuffs for a couple of more years might be more helpful to his campaign than pretending he’s jogging.

Comment by John Culpepper Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 12:52 pm

  28. Wow. If this is his idea of running, I wonder what his idea of ’slacking off’ is……his shadow’s even embarrassed.

Comment by Anonymous Wednesday, Jun 4, 14 @ 3:00 pm
