The weekend in Facebook

Posted in:

* Rep. Greg Harris

Really inappropriate dreams starring my friends Guy Zakrzewski, James Hallberg Piechocinski, a random bag lady, Little Jim’s and a copy of the state budget.

What, no bacon or Sharknado references?

* Will Caskey

Toddler’s new favorite toy is a small plastic hammer. So he was hanging out with me and tried to hammer the window. I said no, off limits.

Then he hit himself on the head with it and got upset. I comforted him and said that’s why we don’t hit ourselves.

He looked at me defiantly and hit himself in the head again.

Insert political metaphor here.

I’m sure we can come up with something.

* Anders Lindall

You know you’re dragging when … you try to plug your phone charger into your granola bar.

* John Fritchey

How did I get this far in the day without knowing that it’s National Tequila Day?

* Rep. Rob Martwick’s band “Little Egypt” performed at Jeff Fest over the weekend

What did you post?

  2. I’m musically inclined, so I celebrated being in power pop heaven watching Tommy Keene and Matthew Sweet perform Friday, and congratulated Weird Al on his first #1 album.

  3. Nothing that exciting… or disturbing.

  4. I laughed at Dan Proft for his outrage that Divvy bikes don’t look cool, and noted that the last time I complained about bikes not looking cool, I was in 5th grade.

    And so much for using “Streeterville Guy” as a nickname. Guess that cover is blown.

  5. what is Martwick’s music like? for that matter, what is he like?

    Comment by Amalia Monday, Jul 28, 14 @ 11:26 am

  6. Of course that is a link to Dan’s page. I don’t post comments directly on his page. He and his readers take things a bit too seriously, so I kept the discussion of his status on my own page.

  7. Will - don’t let your Toddler hammer your wooden furniture. I learned the hard way that plastic hammers can make an impact…

    Comment by Jimmy Monday, Jul 28, 14 @ 11:53 am

  8. I sometimes post news articles under the heading of “People unclear of the concept”

    Some of these listed facebook posts qualify.

  10. Couple things–fortunately, not silly stuff:
    Madeline Albright is on ‘Face the Nation’ and as typical is wearing a pin…today, it is massive dove pin in the shape of a Peace Dove. I hope the symbol spreads a little peace.
    Very interesting article…especially if you plan on being employed in 2030 since you may want to scan the jobs to see if your job will still be around in 15 years.

  12. I never post anything political. With all do respect most people don’t really care what my political opinions are. I like to keep my Facebook page positive and fun. Posted a couple of photos with friends over to weekend doing recreational activities.

  13. I almost never post on Facebook, but this weekend I posted a picture of my beloved dog, who we put to sleep last week. She was at least 14 years old.

  14. I am so sorry for your loss, G of M. Such a tough decision—been there more than once and it is always hard to make the decision. It’s even harder to be without your friend. Unlike politicians, they are terrific. They are our real friends.

  20. Thank you for your sympathy, Belle. My family and I adored the dog. The dog was family and our dear friend and companion for many years.

    You’re right, it’s hard to make the decision, so we put it off for a short while.
