UPDATE: Inspired by a commenter, I took a look at the governor’s new TV ad about ethanol. Gov. Blagojevich is filmed standing in a field while he’s talking about what he wants to do to promote ethanol production. As he’s talking up the virtues of ethanol, the camera does a close-up of the plants and then pans up and over to the governor.

But, as the commenter pointed out, it sure looks like those are soybean plants he’s standing next to, not corn. Ethanol, you may or may not know, is made from corn.
