  1. “The Hidden Public Cost of Low-Wage Work in Illinois,”

Sounds like a pretty biased study if you ask me….

  2. I generally dismiss the “liberal media bias” criticisms that we hear, but that Mike Parker CBS 2 piece about Kirk was completely biased. It could not have been better if Seals people had written it themselves. I’m a Seals supporter, but I also believe in objective reporting and I don’t think Parker covered that topic fairly. That being said, Kirk and McSweeney are clearly running away from Bush. Thanks for the link Rich.

  3. Kirk is running from Bush. He should. Now, unfortunately he is only running away from all the failures when he is in his district. When he is in Washington he is still Bush’s lap dog. Time for a change.

  4. If Duckworth wins, will she get the same free pass from the press that Obama is getting?

  5. “Goodbye Napoleon,” you could look at it another way. Kirk gets his message out that he’s distancing himself from Bush. In that regard, the station could have done him a favor.

  6. What in the world was newsworthy about the Kirk story that Channel 2 would air it?

The line “Toughtful, Independent Leadership” is the same tagline he has been using since his first campaign in 2000, before GWB was President.

I also believe John Porter used a variation of that as well in the district.

The fact that he is saying he is using the word “independent” in a radio ad is hardly new, or newsworthy

  7. What’s newsworthy about the Kirk story is the telling point that Seals raised: you can’t be independent when you’re the Assistant Majority Whip.

You are the defender, the enforcer, and the boot camp drill sergeant. You ain’t independent. You the one.

So Mr. Kirk needs to tell the truth and not hide.
