* Ormsby…

$600,000 from conservative activist Dick Uihlein to @bruceanddan Proft’s Liberty Principles PAC. http://t.co/HeqIipyWaA #twill

— Illinois Observer (@IL_Observer) September 30, 2014

Proft’s PAC ended the last quarter with $946K in the bank. It has since reported raising $735K.

…Adding… I don’t think he can keep that money. From the Board of Elections is this info on contribution caps

Political Action Committee:

…Adding More… Since this is an Independent Expenditure committee, there don’t appear to be contribution limits.

  1. Proft says he is spending $2 million. Once again, he appears to be focusing his attention on lawmakers who voted for gay marriage.

    Pretty transparently.

  3. Rich, it’s organized as an independent expenditure only PAC (meaning it can receive unlimited contributions).

  4. I wonder what his out is to keep the money?

Because on Aug. 11, 2014, a certain Todd Ricketts, 1060 W. Addison, Chioago (occupation: owner) kicked in $50K to Proft.

You know how your ballclub’s been going when you start kicking in cash to Proft in search of a “winner.”

Uiehlein lists his Pleasant Prairie WI address (Uline Drive) where he took the Scott Walker corporate welfare to relocate.

But he still lives in Lake Forest. Can’t take those high Wisconsin progressive personal income tax rates.

  5. @YellowDogDemocrat

Glenn Nixon (79 Kan) came out supporting gay marriage and Im pretty sure he will see some of that money.

  6. That’s a lot of dough.

How much will be left in the vault, how much will be out in the field, how much will be in the mailboxes?

When money rolls in like that, the Winner is Proft, no matter the outcomes.

  12. Shows how easy it is to avoid/evade political contribution caps. A new a law? Invent a new loophole.

Just pay a lawyer to invent a nonsensical or misleading legal entity, and then have your political beneficiaries threaten the IRS or anyone else who tries to uncover the deception.

  13. Hey, I’m willing to say crazy stuff on the radio and make a terrible run for elected office if somebody is willing to give me a lot of money.

Get his share up front, on the back side, and his “10%”. Free market society, good work if you can get it.

Gotta be able to afford that Lake Shore Drive address too…

  21. Fact check: Nixon opposes gay marriage. One article out there misquoted him.

  24. Finally,
I’m not a big fan of anti-anything enough to want to raise big money and find candidates that are single minded focus on being opposed to that issue.

I’m no fan of negative campaigning, and that includes candidates that run on nothing but anti-whatever.

While I may hold opinions opposing this or that, I respect the political process and voter support enough not to want to see it become the sole purpose of a campaign.

That said, I’m not a fan of Mr. Proft, nor of his candidates.

What he is doing however, is basically no different from what nearly every other special interest campaign and candidate is doing.

And I am just as opposed to those special interest folks as I am to Mr. Proft.
