If it gets the words “nursing home” in the papers over the weekend, the first one will just reinforce a previous message, so hard to call it a loss.
The second one regarding Rauner’s plans for DCEO is too complicated and too late. I would call it a miss, but you might as well get everything out before November 4. I really don’t think the economic development hit has an real legs, regardless of when released.

Quinn is intentionally staying away from the nursing homes because more have gone under because the state is not making medicaid payments then have been targeted by Rauner.
The fact is, if you have 60 residents to care for and you are not going to get paid for todays service until May of 2016, unless you are independently wealthy like a Bruce Rauner, you are going under. I can’t speak for Chicago, but that is what is happining in Southern IL.

The biggest thing on the second one is the 9 employees making between $125k and $185k paid for by taxpayers, yet even their identities are hidden because it’s not a government agency. This is the kind of transparency that will shake up Springfield?

The Tribbies showed interest, talked about a story, but …..surprise … concluded they were just too shorthanded to out it together. A cynic might claim they played hide the ball to limit distribution. Remember they held the info on the threats against the AZ female exec for some time too.

Early or late, no one cares about the legal structure of a DCEO alternative. The nursing home thing might pick up 50 votes in the communities named.
Ad money to burn before it’s all over. Better to spend on current closers where space is available.
