  11. This is great for the State……. Now he can defend his own unconstitutional ideas (pension, right to work, etc). It’ll have the AG a boatload on staffing costs.

  12. Bruce was latter sadly disappointed when he read the fine print and realized his honorary degree was in “Rudy Law” (1980’s outfielder for the Chicago White Sox, among several teams).

As embarrassing as it is to admit it, years ago, I went to Lincoln College, and my two sons also went there-good school for kids who just didn’t quite know what they wanted to do in life-kind of an extension of high school. Expensive, but the local resident scholarships made it affordable. A lot of students attending it are rich kids from up north, Rauner’s buddies. But it is in REPUBLICAN Logan County (the County Board adopted Rauner’s right-to-work plan), so that is why it is acceptable for Lincoln College to confer an honorary degree on him.

  37. Is there such a thing as a PhD in law? Lawyers get a J.D. degree from law school, a few get a specialized Masters in Law. I guess it’s only fitting that a school not authorized to give out law degrees or PhDs would give a PhD in law to Rauner.
