Cruz hearts Flynn

Posted in:

* Presidential candidate Ted Cruz has endorsed Mike Flynn for Congress

“Mike Flynn is the kind of courageous conservative we need in Washington,” Cruz said in a statement Monday. “When Andrew Breitbart launched BigGovernment.com to expose ACORN and fight back against the institutional left and the political class, he chose Mike Flynn as his lieutenant. For 6 years, Flynn helped expose the media’s lies and led many fights against the Obama Administration and Washington’s entrenched political establishment.”

“I’m happy to endorse his campaign for Congress. With Flynn, Central Illinois will have a strong voice to uphold the constitution, defend the 2nd Amendment and stand up to the media and political elite,” Cruz said.

Cruz, who has been noted as a maverick among Republican establishment ranks, lines up with national conservative political pundit John Fund, Erick Erickson and Dana Loesch. He’s also been backed by Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas.

The primary election is today, so Cruz is a little late to the party.

  1. Unfortunately for Flynn, this isn’t a National election, and will be decided in a place he hasn’t been around much the last few decades.

  2. Nope. Don’t see and haven’t seen, any Flynn signs anywhere in this district. Has this guy gotten any endorsements from someone who, you know, can actually vote for him?

Joe Walsh isn’t endorsing Flynn, so Flynn can’t even claim that he’s got the nutty-nut-nut vote, can he?

  3. Why did Cruz do it? It won’t help him much in his own Primary. Guy’s already lost.

Flynn can’t stand up to the media, when he is the media, can he? Pathetic.

  5. What do you mean he’s not got the “nutty nut-nut vote”
Louie Gohmert has “nutty nut-nut” written all over him.

  6. Funny since in the Springfield debate, Flynn refused to say who he’d support for President, but LaHood actually mentioned Cruz by name as someone he’d favor.

  7. Had a robo-call from Flynn yesterday which sounded like it had bag pipes playing in the background. Not sure why, as I didn’t really listen to the message.

    Walsh endorsed LaHood. Pay attention.

  9. ah, the Canadian born Senator speaks.

he’s constantly writhing in a Constitutional stew, missing his days litigating and jealous of his former Renquist law clerk colleague Justice Roberts. Cruz is a waste of a good education.

  10. Cruz is just trolling for that all-important Flynn endorsement in the GOP presidential race.

  11. Flynn has people standing at high traffic intersections in Springfield with 4 x 4 signs.

  12. @vman: fwiw, Flynn has signs all over Bloomington-Normal, rented the county party’s elephant and had people showing up for him in district parades for the 4th. Obviously that’s nowhere near enough to beat LaHood name recognition and his vapid television commercials that flooded newscasts the last month while Flynn had no tv at all, but not as much of a joke candidacy as one would expect from someone as disconnected from the district as he is.

  13. Joe Walsh isn’t endorsing Flynn

    [Walsh endorsed LaHood. Pay attention.]

I must have confused you by using the work “isn’t”. English is confusing sometimes.

  14. I saw LaHood in two Independence Day parades.
    Flynn was nowhere.
No sign of Flynn support anywhere but in the media he is a part of.

Perhaps he is waiting for more out-of-district endorsements later today.

Flynn was in three. Again, you’re not paying attention.

Perhaps he just didn’t recognize him. You know, just like most people wouldn’t recognize someone who hasn’t been in the District for decades

The 18th must want to join Texas.
