  1. A word to the Governor: talk is cheap. Do your job. This isn’t the campaign anymore. Good governance does not mean holding the people of the state hostage while you figuratively burn your opponents (unions, the Speaker, the “Machine”) at the stake.

  2. Attention GOP GA;

    “You will get ‘paid’ every six months to remind to you; I still own you, you don’t want $&@#% problems” - Bruce Rauner, owner.

  5. Ok, I know I’m not 100% up to speed on things, but I’m tryin’ to keep up/get caught up.
    The Rauner Reform agenda bills weren’t even introduced until 5/22 (HJRCA 39 & 40)and 7/8 (HJRCA 41 & 42)and 7/9 (HB4247 & 4248), correct?
    and of course the new pension bill (which I don’t believe is in bill form yet).

    It is just so much easier to say “no” than to say something of substance.

  6. Is it me, or at 2:08 in the feed- did Rauner go full Freudian by calling the GA the “jumble assembly.”

  7. Where exactly would those Jim Thome Highway signs be placed, since there is no Illinois Route 24?

  8. I just read your article “Rauner no heeding advice”. I have been in favor of limited terms, however in thinking it over a question arose. All current member will retire with retiree pay and health insurance, in order to get ahead newly elected term limits would have to have reduced payment & no insurance or we will be in worse shape then now? Follow my trend of thinking? I don’t think we will see it in our lifetime, do you?

  9. Cover, I live a block off of 24. Learn your geography.

    Comment by awilder181 Tuesday, Jul 21, 15 @ 4:41 pm

  10. awilder181 - Sorry to say but cover is correct. The legislation states “Designates Illinois Route 24, beginning at the intersection of South Adams Street and Illinois Route 24 in Bartonville and ending at the intersection of Griswold Street and Route 24 in Peoria, as the “Jim Thome Highway”.”

    The legislation is incorrect. The highway route designation should be US Route 24 instead of Illinois Route 24.

    What you live a block away from is US 24. It is easy to tell the difference between IL Routes and US Routes. The US Route signs are a shield with a number. The Illinois Route signs are square or rectangular with the work “Illinois” and a number.
