* My family and I marched in the Twilight Parade. There were a TON of people at the Fairgrounds taking in the parade and the preview. Here are some of the videos I took…

Jenny and I thought Robin, who is 14 months now, would throw a bunch of waves and blow kisses as she is prone to do during our walks through the park. No dice…

Oh well. You can’t tell kids anything.

Governor Rauner just told one man on the route “I’m working for you.”
“No you’re not,” the guy said. “You’re working for the Koch brothers.” ===

That’s a winner. Give that man a kewpie doll.

  4. My first Twilight Parade as a participant. It was a blast! This parade pretty much blows away any other parade I’ve ever been a part of. Congratulations to the organizers, the Fair (Dept. of Agriculture) and City of Springfield.

This “out of towner” was seriously impressed! Well done!

  6. Barton,

You’re a good man. Thanks for the video and letting us all “inside”, talking about the beauty of sharing a moment with your daughter. Cool stuff. In reality, the parade and the fair, they are about those moments more than anything else.

    Thanks.

  9. The wife and I were inside the fairgrounds as the parade came thru. The Governors group seemed a bit small with very few wearing his “Turnaround” t-shirts.
Not sure where LSA was at but the parade got pretty disorganized as it came past us. Lots of gaps between groups and the crowd walking in the parade route. Was hard to tell the end of the parade. I think a group of military re-enactors brought up the rear but with the crowd so intermixed it was hard to tell.

  12. I think I remember that the people that desired to walk with the governor had about an hour to sign up and couldn’t just show up?
