  1. Great pick. I have been a Neil Diamond fan since the 60’s. Appropriate for all the Cub fans today.

  8. I’ve never been a Neil Diamond fan but the song is appropriate for Cub fans this morning. I think many seemed resolved to this fate after Arrieta lost in game 2.

  9. The Cubs get swept in demoralizing fashion, but Rich doesn’t start the morning with a “NLCS open thread”?

Pay attention, Springfield! This is how you reach across the aisle!

  13. ….and to think, Robbie Robertson wanted to cut Muddy Waters out of The Last Waltz completely in favor of this…..

  14. A tough series, but can’t diminish the overachieving season. I love this song choice, but I’m also reminded of a line in “Wheels” by Foo Fighters: “I know your head is spinning. Broken hearts will mend. This is our beginning, coming to an end.”
2016: Cubs v. Sox in the Series!
