The two candidates for state treasurer have been arguing back and forth over negative ads. Christine Radogno got the ball rollling with this spot, which, for the first time ever, uses the words of a state party chairman of the opposing party to slam an opponent…
And then Alexi Giannoulias came right back at her with this ad, which Radogno has demanded that he pull off the air.
Meanwhile, Giannoulias told the Southern Illinoisan that he’s “sick” of the negative ads.
“We’re sick of attack ads,†Giannoulias said. “Let’s talk about ideas. People need solutions, and I can tell you that talking about the things my opponent or other people before me have done is not providing a solu-tion.â€
Not included in the article was a single mention of Giannoulias’ own negative ad.

I have yet to hear anything about what Ms R plans to DO. Doesn’t leave me eager to consider voting for her.

northsider, that’s because you haven’t paid any attention….Giannouli says he got endorsements statewide, totally bogus, just like his ads, he got the Sun Times and Radogno has Trib, Southtown, Daily HERALD, SJR, PJStar, Champaign, Southern Illinoisan, St. Lou Post Dispatch, who’s he kidding?

Also not mentioned was a thing that Giannoulias would do in order to improve the Treasurer’s office.

Giannoulias will be the shame of Illinois, which I suppose is good for Blagojevich but no one else.
On the bright side, maybe Obama will have to answer for Giannoulias sooner or later.

Radogno packs WAY too much into 30 seconds. She might not have enough cash for both a positive and negative commercial, but that’s like two full commercials’ worth of content in 30, and it kind of makes my head hurt.

of course little Alexi wants to talk about “ideas”. That way, he doesn’t have to answer questions about loans to organized crime figures. his banking “experience” is not the kind of “experience” I want to see in the Treasurer’s office.

I am sick of all this negativity in the campaigns. I am going to go tell the no good, poo poo head SOB to stop being so negative…. Poor Alexi……. He can’t help it…………. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth…
