During his October trip to Cuba, Congressman Rodney Davis stands in front of a 40-year-old Russian tractor in need of repair. Outdated equipment is a huge problem in Cuba but companies like Caterpillar and Deere could help them out if given the chance.

  25. This is silly, it shows the enormous philosophical divide between Americans and Cubans.

    America’s economy runs on credit, Cubas economy runs on cash. This isn’t a flaw in the Cuban system it’s by design. Cubans are not going to rush to mortgage their land to buy $400k combines when buying/repairing used equipment at 100th of the cost will suffice.

  34. Having been there……I can say the US is missing the boat by the continued embargo. Only Congress can undo that mess, so I’m glad to see an Illinois Congressman - a Republican no less - who may vote to end the trade embargo. Thanks RD.
