That part about working cooperatively and professionally with the Governor and solving this through a combination of cuts and revenues, well how about no cuts and 3 billion more in spending than last year. He said what he said last year but his finger were crossed behind his back.

When has the governor ever said anything that would change my mind?
If has gotten to the point, when the governor says “Nice day, isn’t it?” that I check the weather because I have learned from experience that he operates in the extreme and I don’t know if he is making a political speech to some high school students.

(My actual hope is that MjM will solidify his upper hand on this and pick a few items worthy of a Democratic/Progressive Reformation that helps all of the middle class, including small business owners, property owners, etc…The CA on the progressive tax structure was a great start, just got blown out by book cookers.)

“When I am persuaded, the Governor will be announcing his revenue proposals and wants to sponsor them–Rauner Retirement Tax, Rauner Income Tax, Rauner Service Tax. We have a working group to set the price for this honor of naming rights. He’s loaded so of course the open bid will be quite substantial.”

I think any grand deal, if even possible, will have to come in an overtime session. That is the only way to guarantee republicans will have to put a lot of votes on a deal to pass. Until then, this is just the usual theater of the absurd.
