On one hand, it sucks this bug exists. I guarantee Derek and Chris didn’t get into civic tech aspiring to squash bugs like this. Quite the opposite.
On the other, it’s pretty cool there is a group of people paying attention to what is going on and then using their skills to build a corresponding app. To my knowledge there isn’t money changing hands for this app to exist.
There aren’t too many places that have a grassroots civic tech movement as Illinois does. That is one of the many narratives that has been drowned out during this impasse.
