Oh, yeah…

Posted in:

The media dumped all over them and brazenly rooted for their NFC Championship opponents. Too many of their own fans, perhaps infected with fatalistic Cubitis, even refused to believe in their potential for triumph, ragging on the quarterback, dissing the defense, moaning about the management. And their owners had so little faith in their head coach that his pay is lower than any of his peers.

But, guess what, baby?

Bears to the Super Bowl.

Sweet.

  1. Is Lovey getting a raise or what? That contract will get shredded. Pretty dominate game but both sides played well. Saints will be very good next year.Right now—-DA BEARS! Defense with multiple turn overs. An Offensive line that simply ruled. Hope this shuts the critics up. Does not matter what happens next. They are going to the Big Show and deserve it.

  2. Maybe now Chicago will finally be able to move beyond Mike Ditka.

  3. Da BEARSZ! Da Superfans! The snow looked like tickertape falling in a parade. I think we need to update the Shuffle song now, maybe have Corgan produce it.

  6. SCAM! Sound Thought from a Sound Man! Now, is the time to put MikeDitka’s wonderful accomplishment in the old humidor! As well as Mongo and the Punky QB - of the whole crew only Dan Hampton seems to understand that his role of icon should be to help others - the man is everywhere.

  7. Far be it from me to throw Gatorade on the Bears wildfire, but I will now have no reason to watch any of the local news stations for the next two weeks. All Bears and Obama until February 6th.

  8. Political winners from the Bears Super Bowl run:

    1) George Bush — Saved from two weeks of Katrina retrospectives and extensive footage of areas of New Orleans still in ruins.

    2) Richard Daley — Two more weeks of Bears hype means two more weeks of little attention to politics and scandals. Good news for an incumbent with a big lead and an election five weeks away. He also gets to associate himself with a winning team.

    3) Incumbent aldermen on shaky footing — Due again to lack of attention to politics.

    Go Bears!

  9. Its funny that half the comments talk about finally being able to put the 85 team to rest and the other half use a bunch of stupid slogans from that team. I think regardless of the outcome in 2 weeks, Bears fans need to let the 85 team go.

In a way, I want the Bears to win in hopes that it will help the Cubs. I mean the Red Sox, White Sox, and potentially Bears have won championships after being crap for decades. Maybe the Cubs can finally do it. Or maybe lead the league in losses again?

Finally, they are old enough to buy their own drinks!

  12. I agree with the guy from the 2000 Ravens(?) on the NFL Network who gave this advice to Rex Grossman. No TV, Radio or internet for the next two weeks so that you won’t be influenced by anything. Just go out and play your game.

    Best advice! Go Bears!
