Because… Madigan!

Rich-

Hope you’ve had a great weekend and are ready for Fair week.

I wanted to send you details about the advocacy efforts we are launching this week, along with the digital ads we’re running (below). The initial phase of the advocacy campaign consists of an extensive digital ad campaign in each of the legislative districts, reinforced with our door-to-door effort and direct mail through November. Additional legislators will be added to the advocacy efforts in the coming month. If you are not in a targeted district, hopefully you will not see the ad (except on CapFax J).

In the House districts, the campaign will focus on failure to curb government over-spending by passing the unbalanced Madigan budget and promoting higher taxes. In the Senate, the ads focus on the Democrat majority’s refusal to address the problem of ever-increasing property taxes that drain family budgets and dampen growth.

The accountability effort will initially include the following Illinois Senate & House members:

SD 23 - Tom Cullerton https://youtu.be/O48MQHSu8pw

SD 31 - Melinda Bush https://youtu.be/AZX5BdO2RAE

LD 46 - Deb Conroy https://youtu.be/ZrOo4AfgqDo

LD 62 - Sam Yingling https://youtu.be/zSKhUI7zrxw

LD 111 - Dan Bieser https://youtu.be/lBmc40LX544

LD 117 - John Bradley https://youtu.be/GxdAplIImWw

  1. Oh dear, I don’t have time to fix these ads. There is too much to work with to reedit and respin the ads to be anti 1.4%.

  2. “Vote Accordingly”

    Simple.

It’s a POTUS voting universe, with an unpopular Rauner willing to close state universities and destroy Labor and Social Services.

Compact, and vote accordingly the voting universe at a greater rate than Rauner can manipulate by the truth that Raunerites don’t care about Illinois, and care more about a Raunerite agenda.

It’s there… can Democrats organize and vote their voters better?

  3. So tired of this… They are all responsible!!

First, Gov Rauner said he would not accept a stop-gap budget. But in the final hours when he finally understood that he couldn’t get a budget with his Turn-Around Agenda he then “asked” for it and the stop-gap budget has what he wanted in it.

Second, Gov Rauner asked for the 5% tax to expire when he took office. I pull my hair out every time they try to blame a tax increase on the DEMS when they requested for it to expire.

They spent millions on the last election trying to unseat certain people and failed. I hope this effort meets the same end. The GOP is blindly following Gov Rauner to their end and are so much in denial that it is going to destroy the party as a whole. Truly sad to see as I have always been a Republican. Gov Rauner is the worst thing to ever happen to the GOP.

  4. There is a yes problem. There is a yes problem because people in Springfield say yes to special interests. Sincerely, A Special Interest

    What a joke.

  5. Yes, there is a problem. The problem is that people like the Koch brothers fund these wing nut groups who blatantly lie and find an audience willing to believe it.

  6. It’s just the same old dirty politics. But please, freeze property taxes, which for many local governments is the main source of funding?
Yes, it is probably the most hated tax, but freezing it will only cause more harm to everyone.

  7. Dear David From,

My man! Just a quick question, the budget that was approved (stop gap) was supported and signed by Governor Rauner right? I note that his name is conspicuously absent from the infotainment ads you are running.

As are the GOP members that voted “yes”. What gives?

I am just going to say this…..pants on fire buddy.

  8. Dear Mr. From:

The Governor signed an unbalanced budget. You should add him to your ads.

The property tax freeze includes language going after unions. Perhaps you might mention that. I’m thinking the public won’t be on your side.

    Sincerely,

    Demoralized

  10. Hope you “steered” clear of the flash floods, Rich!

  11. Tell David From you are aware that AFP is bought and paid for by the Koch brothers.

Comment by The Fool On The Hill Monday, Aug 15, 16 @ 1:10 pm

  12. So, they focus on property taxes, which are not controlled by the Senate. And they focus on Madigan’s budget, which did not become law, and the stopgap they DID pass with GOP and Rauner’s support was just as bad if not worse. I can’t help but think this becomes white noise in the election cycle. Feel free to spend your ad money in Illinois and benefit our economy, to no effect.

  13. Love the “unbalanced budget” talking point. Totally avoiding Rauner’s unbalanced budget.
