  3. Roland is lucky talking about yourself in the third person isn’t a crime too.

Comment by Ron Burgundy Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 4:16 pm

  4. Aw, that’s fun.

Is there room on the Masoleum for Apologist?

Asking for a Friend… of Blagojevich.

  7. Of course Burris likes Blago, he made him a U.S. Senator.

Comment by Mama Retired Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 4:55 pm

  8. Have to completely agree with Roland. I read about people who were caught defrauding the federal government out of millions, and all they got was less than 2 years.

Comment by Tommy Lee Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 4:56 pm

  9. The Trailblazer is exactly right on this topic.

Comment by Anonymous Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 5:05 pm

  10. Maybe when Blago gets out, he and Roland are reprising a group, The Coasters

  11. ‘Trembling, I was trembling. Hadn’t heard my name in ANY media for what seemed a generation.

I had to do it. I just HAD to open my trap & spew something. I swear; it wasn’t my FAULT’!

  12. ‘And, yes, you need to know: I am still alive’!

  13. === I read about people who were caught defrauding the federal government out of millions, and all they got was less than 2 years.===

Begs the question…did Blago get too much, or did they get too little?

Comment by Six Degrees of Separation Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 5:55 pm

  14. Burris ought to add this quotation to his tombstone.

Comment by Anonymous Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 6:14 pm

  15. Roland knows Blagojevich operated under US Attorneys “appointed” by Peter Fitzgerald and James R. Thompson operated under US Attorneys “appointed by … James R. Thompson …”

Comment by Smitty Irving Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 6:43 pm

  16. Drop the innuendo, Smitty, and make a point if you have one.

  17. And Senator Burris is exactly right concerning the sentence

Comment by Steve Schnorf Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 8:20 pm

  18. ===Begs the question…did Blago get too much, or did they get too little?===

That’s definitely right question. We can all agree that Blago’s sentencing is disproportionate compared to people who have committed more serious offenses.

Comment by Timmy Lee Monday, Sep 19, 16 @ 9:13 pm

  19. What does that say about Burris? I wonder what is hidden in his closet? ;)

Comment by Tinsel Town Tuesday, Sep 20, 16 @ 6:48 am

  20. ==all he did was “talk too much”==

And all John Wilkes Booth did was discharge his weapon.

    Comment by Slugger O'Toole Tuesday, Sep 20, 16 @ 8:49 am

  21. Burris should try filing a false police report… it was all just talk, right?

Comment by In the Middle... Tuesday, Sep 20, 16 @ 9:01 am

  22. Sing along, Roland,Roland,Roland, keep those comments Roland, rawhide.

Comment by pool boy Tuesday, Sep 20, 16 @ 9:16 am

  23. Roland -
The unethical and illegal actions were thought of first. Talking about it took those bad ideas and plans and made them public to be acted upon.

Talking too much wasn’t the illegal act, his intention to commit illegal acts were there first.

Blagojevich was convicted due to any accident.

Burris’ thinking is what happens when you stop using high moral standards and instead use legal ones. A lack of a conviction does not prove innocence.
