Hearing the same about the Senate.

It’s a week to week decision, I’m told.

The GA was scheduled to come back for three weeks and then take two weeks off for spring break. They ought to just cancel everything until May, do a budget and some cleanup legislation on cannabis and infrastructure and whatever else and get outta town.

…Adding… As expected…

Illinois Senate President Don Harmon today announced the cancellation of next week’s Senate session days as part of a public health initiative to limit exposure and hopefully slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

That’s pushing it a little. Not a case within 100 miles of the Capitol Building. Gold courses will be packed. So will the bars with NCAA in full swing.

I think you meant GOLF courses… Also, better safe than sorry. It’s best not to have hundreds of staff working in and around the Capitol. This is a time to sit still, at home, and reflect on this crisis, not run through it “Wylie Coyote” style.

Deadlines are changed for no reason every year. They at least have a reason this year.

Well I for one would love that. As a lobbyist I am not allowed to sit next to a legislator when they are on the floor. But me and others know some of them pretty well. We could just sit next to them in their living room or mine or wherever and tell them how we feel about the legislation in front of them. It would work out great. And no staff around to bother them.
