You'd probably have to file another resolution in a few years creating another taskforce to decommission that taskforce because nobody ever showed up for a meeting

— Rich Miller (@capitolfax) February 16, 2021

Better get a working group on that first.

— Thomas C. Bowen (@thomascbowen) February 16, 2021

  9. Shouldn’t an effort like this start out with a fact-finding mission? I believe Honolulu and Macau have both undertaken similar efforts. It bears investigation.

Comment by Dysfunction Junction Wednesday, Feb 17, 21 @ 8:12 am

  10. But we will have to sit through the Republican’s in the House and Senate complaining any task force doesn’t have equal representation. That is reason enough not to have another task fore.

  30. Sad news out of #BloNo–Former Mayor Judy Markowitz, the first woman and the first person of the Jewish faith to serve as Bloomington mayor, died Monday. She was 82.It was revealed in the last couple of years that she was suffering from dementia, probably Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a remarkable woman.

Here is the link to the Pantagraph’s article about Judy:

  31. I believe that before we establish a blue-ribbon panel, to appoint a committee, to authorize a task force, to create a bi-partisan board, which will then consider the formation of a citizen’s committee to review the working group’s status thus far, that we need to consider holding a non-binding referendum on the need to form the necessary commission to establish the blue-ribbon panel. Having said that, I also believe that the Governor should appoint a Deputy Governor with the sole task of coordinating the various bodies to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in establishing the need for further study of this issue.
