  3. Welcome back, Rich.

Anyway, Springfield alderman Joe McMenamin is in hot water with AFSCME after comparing union protesters who entered City Council chambers during last week’s Committee of the Whole meeting with the Jan. 6 DC rioters. And calling for the arrest of the union protestors. The AFSCME members had entered the council meeting to protest stalled contract negotiations with the city.

[Sarcasm font on] Actually, Ald. McMenamin was misquoted. He said the protestors should probably be arrested … for failure to obtain a mechanical license / pay mechanical royalties before performing a cover version of a song. J G Wentworth - “It’s my money, and I need it now!”

  7. Yesterday I got to enjoy the great weather watching the Sox walk off win against Cleveland. Life is good.

  8. Doing very well personally but pretty concerned due to so many fellow Americans. When I was a kid no one seemed to question or politicize vaccines. We got them and kept certain diseases at bay. Today vaccines and other health protection measures are scorned and feared by so many, it seems dystopian. The worst is profiting politically or financially by pushing misinformation when knowing better.

But vaccination rates have been increasing. The Delta variant is probably scaring many into getting shots, as it should.

  9. I’m feeling like moving to the middle of nowhere until COVID passes. The world is ridiculous. Especially anti-vaxxers. I would love nothing more than to place my head firmly in the sand until it’s all over.

  10. Tired. Just told family we would not be going to Branson this weekend to see them. They took it well (at least I think) but its exhausting to keep having to deal with all this stuff.

  11. Seeing more headlines and news stories that start with “Family’s vaccine hesitancy proves fatal”.

I have to fight the perverse feeling of schadenfreude.

  12. Tired, lots of construction where I live. But that is nothing compared to fear of covid, once again. even with masks, and vaccination, the fear I hear from my friends is real.
