  2. If every member of the general assembly contributes $250–which they all could afford to do—that would $44,250.00 and coupled with the $20K already raised, LSSI would hit there goal. Just saying.

  3. Looks like the Kanye West publicist/Illinois pot lobbyist featured in the blog last year for attacks on Toi Hutchinson is now making national news over her attempts to intimidate Georgia election workers over Trump’s loss. Yikes

  6. Even though Christmas is 15 days away, batten down the hatches tonight as most of Illinois is in at least a Marginal Risk of severe weather (including damaging winds and possibly tornadoes) especially from Interstate 88 southward. With the southern half of the state from Springfield southward currently in an Enhanced Risk of Severe with the risk of perhaps an isolated strong tornado in some areas.

  7. Can’t imagine Chuy’s folks are too happy with the Illinois Playbook this AM. Mistakes happen, but incorrectly reporting an endorsement when there was none? Seriously?

  8. Unfortunately the only thing jonathan carroll is serious about is fundraising. he is hyper focused on the campaign bank account, not so much on being a thoughtful legislator.

  10. List of idoc percentage of offenders by offense. It’s from 2018, I can’t find the newest data, I happened to have this one book marked.

I really think it’s interesting, worth a few minutes anyway.

  11. I didn’t plan it, but watched the funeral service for Bob Dole this morning. Very moving. Coming of age as left-leaning in the ’80s I felt comfortable dismissing him (who refers to himself in the 3rd person?), but I wish I had been more thoughtful. A statesman and a patriot in the true sense of those words, who we should hope to see more of (but I won’t hold my breath).

  12. You couldn’t have asked a better question on a worse day. Just left a chronic pain group and they all have the same story; doctor won’t refill pain meds due to opioid crisis. So, they suffer in pain and their quality of life diminished. Not everyone who uses pain medication is a drug addict. Chronic pain could be caused by musculoskeletal and nervous system disorders, cancer, CPS, PVD, trauma or other injuries or diseases.

The restrictions make it hard for people with legitimate chronic pain to get the prescriptions they need to function. Prohibition didn’t stop alcohol use and abuse, and the war on drugs has been going on for ages.

Doctors are afraid of losing their licenses, but if they manage their patients care effectively, I don’t see the problem; blood work, pill counting, etc. Everyone is different and it is not a one shoe fits all kind of issues. Big Pharma created much of the crisis in my opinion. Rant over. Thank you.

–KUDOS to you on your LSSI fundraising effort.

  13. Today I think back to one of Illinois’ greatest, Judy Baar Topinka.

Illinois lost a true hero seven years ago, today.
